The 1990's are now as far away as the 1970's were in the 90's.

That 90's Show when?
>>
>>67693182
That 70s Show wasn't good because it took place in the 70s. It was good because the characters were consistent and actors could pull it off.
>>
did you forget the failed "that 80s show?" I know fox hasn't

Fresh Off The Boat takes place in the 90s
>>
>>67693830
it was the early 2000s which count as the 90s
>>
No need for it. 70s and even 80s shows made sense, because before that there was never a show about previous decade through the eyes of young people, shows All In The Family and MTMF all had older cast. But 90s had Friends, show that started the whole "attractive young people hanging out" sitcom trend and that pretty much perfected it. Not to mention there's a shitload of teen comedies from the same time too.

You managed to be off not by 10 years but 11. Impressive memes

its called "Friends"
>>
>>67698119

I could never relate to Friends. It was all "dude we live in an awesome apartment in the city and have sex all the time lmao".

A real "That 90s Show" would be like the 70s Show - Bored teenagers in the Midwest being losers and smoking weed all the time in their parents' basement. Now that I can get into.

Sorry it wasn't another capeshit thread and we're actually trying to talk about TV on a board called /tv/.

Thank you for your thoughtful contribution!

probably as close as we will get

It's really bad about 90s references though. Pop culture references are all over the fucking place. Only things that ring true nostalgia-wise are his friendship with a fatherless kid living in a shitty home and Emory's love of Beanie Babies.
>>
>>67698197
To me the 90s would be renting shitty movies from Blockbuster and staying up late to watch them, discussing "edgy" comic books with chromium covers, listening to post-grunge, and spending all your cash on Magic the Gathering cards.
>>
>>67698719

All of that could easily be incorporated, and it's instantly more relatable than "trust fund babbies in the big city"
>>
90's is objectively the worst era
>>
>>67698801

You're implying that the '00s-'10s are any better at all.

Think about that one for a second. Do you want to change your answer?
>>
>>67698832
00's are only saved by internet and vidya
10's got some good movies too
>>
>>67698832
90's spawned the millennial meme and the social justice circle jerk generation. It's too soon to judge the 2000s.
>>
>>67693182
it's called The Simpsons

>You will never be a teen in the 90s again

Why even live?
Everything now is objectively shit and everything from now on will be objectively shit

I will never forget because of that character with the mohawk. I used to fantasize about her endlessly.

>>

Only if you weren't born in the early to mid 80's.
>>
>>67701125

I'd argue they ended in 2001 since 9/11 represented a major cultural shift.

Sort of like how "the fifties" culturally was ~1945-63 when Kennedy was assassinated, with "the sixties" lasting until about 1972 with Watergate becoming news. "The seventies" ended around 1981 when Reagan's inauguration ended the Iran Hostage Crisis, and "the eighties" lasted about up to the end of the Cold War in '91 - note how Terminator 2 manages to look very 80s despite being released in 1991.

These are all subject to debate of course.

Does Mission Hill count as a 90's show? I know it's a cartoon and all
