This blunder single handedly killed stop motion movies.

No one watched the last movie. The studio lost so much money that everybody is afraid of making stop motion movies now.

Studios are always looking for reasons to ditch anything time consuming and expensive. It's silly to lay all the blame on one movie.
Anomalisa

Budget: $30 million
Box Office: $192 million
Rotten Tomatoes: 95%
Yeah, blunder of the century right there.

Except for Coraline, Paranorman, Boxtrolls, Frankenweenie, Fantastic Mr. Fox, A Town Called Panic, The Pirates, Shaun the Sheep, Mary and Max and Anomalisa. If anything the frequency of stop-motion movies has increased since 2005.

it's not their fault no one wants to see quality stop motion films. in fact it's everybody's BUT their fault
Based "Pirates" came out in 2012, friend
Why are stop-motion movies on average so much better than any other type of animation? I'm not saying there isn't some great hand-drawn or CGI movies out there but more often than not stop-motion films are worth seeing

What actually kills the stop motion movie industry is there aren't many professional workers in the field anymore.
>>67693846
>professional workers
The only thing you need to make a good stopmotion movie is severe autism
>moving something a bit every single frame over 500000 times
In fact making a good hand-drawn animation requires way more skill than stopmotion does.

At some point I'd love to see him take on another one of Roald Dahl's weirder, more cartoony stories like The Twits or George's Marvelous Medecine.
