I saw it a second time not because I needed to find out if I like it, but rather because I liked it so much I wanted to see it again. I think this site was dead wrong about the movie, I was very emotional during both viewings. I am being honest when I tell you the film made me cry multiple times, be it when the kal-el theme started playing, the montage of his saving people with the black science man narrating, when Bruce realized he didn't want to kill Clark, and especially during Superman's funerals. The film was beautifully shot, some scenes were reminiscent of perhaps Terry Malick's style. I think this movie will be vindicated in time when people tire of the non-stop quipping and cartoonish nature of the competing franchises, and realize this more somber and desaturated take of the superhero genre is superior. For me I already know this film, along with Man of Steel, is what the genre is supposed to be. These films are certainly more soulful and grounded than other capeshit, these films have underlying themes of the nature of humanity, trust, bringing people together. Man of Steel is about the fragility and importance of trust and faith in goodwill, BvS is essentially about the love between mothers and their sons. If that does not strike at you on an emotional level, then I am sorry you cannot relate.
