Just watched this for the first time last night...I'm surprised at how good it was for it's time. It might be my favorite Kubrick movie.
Are you me? Exact same thing happened to me last night. Nobody brings it up very often either

Because /tv/ doesn't really discuss classic films
The only films discussed are new releases and those with high meme value

>those digits...
the movie is ahead of it's time compared to most movies from the 60s
I can't really appreciate this film that much since it felt like he was almost ripping off the same style (comedic overtones + Sellers improv) as Lolita and felt like he was just reapplying a formula, which actually happened to work for Dr. Strangelove. I think I'm an anomaly but I usually just disregard everything Kubrick before 2001

ok anon

I am stupid for forgetting Paths of Glory but Spartacus was more a standard studio production where Kubrick wasn't really able to implement his own distinct style due to shit like studio interference. Iirc he even disowned it. and if you really rewatch it you'll notice the editing is kind of shoddy in comparison to his other works

My favourite along with Eyes Wide Shut.
