I remember the other week we had a good Impractical Jokers thread. That show is so comfy. Usually I cringe at this kinda stuff but the sport and the will of the guys is really warming to watch. They are pretty genuine even if you can tell it's edited for the best reactions it's obvious they enjoy each other and what they do. It's the only non-negative or non-sensationalizing reality show on television.

I can tell you guys haven't studied science at a serious academic level because, like it or not, geeks and nerds love The Big Bang Theory. And I'm not talking about social fuck ups or outcasts when I say geeks and nerds, I'm talking about intelligent and academically inclined people who have trouble relating to those less intelligent than them. TBBT is yes a multicam sitcom, but it's also a funny and smart sitcom which has been appreciated by scientists, science writers, television critics, and accomplished students for almost a decade now.
4chan is the on losing end of this battle and always will be. TBBT is quite seriously the Frasier of our time; it's hated by the working class and lowbrow laborers who don't catch the physics references, and beloved by educated and middle to upper middle class families.

What comedy do you like? I mean seriously, some of that stuff is boring and unfunny, but The Office isn't even what you described, it's not friends, certainly not in the first four seasons, and they're not "just going on with their lives". It's mostly people who dislike each other and have to grin and bear each other, especially Michael, because they're working together. It gets a little whacky as time goes on, and I can see losing taste for it later, but it doesn't fit the mould for what you described. If you include The Office in your list, then it really cuts down any comedy from ever being acceptable in your eyes.
