Whoever thought that replacing Rachel Weisz with someone else as his wife was a good idea?
It made the film so unbearable to watch!
I understand that she didn't want to do a 3rd film, so why not re-write her character out and make it than Rick met some other women. Would have made it so much better

least of the problems.
series is pretty shit after the 1st flick tbqfh.
I forgot a third mummy existed
also rachel weisz is irreplaceable

hey Mummy Returns was one of my fav childhood films
You've been approached by prime TV waifu Rachel
Rock hard erections will grace your dick but only if you reply sleep tight weiszfu
>>67671657
This. The first one is excellent.
From second onwards, Stephen Whatshisface started jerking off to CGI. Half of The Mummy Returns is just stupid CGI. And early 2000's cgi at that...
>>67671625
The same people who thought the Mummy needed a sequel and that the Scorpion King needed a movie too.
The Mummy I was great, one of my favorite movies as a kid. But everything else related to it is garbage.
>>67671748
I want to go back in time and kick your child ass. No excuse for bad taste.
>>67671625
because the female character is just filler for the female demographic or eyecandy you stupid waifuist.
Who the fuck cut this movie? In this shot, you see Brendan put is hands up, as shot cuts to another camera and you see Brendan's hands are down, as he puts them up.. SHIT the editor who edited this film just did not give a shit.. I can't blame him. This scene of the movie with those bear things is one of the most ridiculous worst scenes in cinema

I though Returns was pretty good, the ending is great just for Imhotep to finally realize Sun-amon is a selfish bitch and that Rick and Evelyn have a true relationship.
Anubis warriors were cool too.

dam that cgi did not age well at all
>>67671625
You're honestly upset about this?
>>67672224
yes.. I wanted it to be really good but that other actress as his wife I cannot stand at all!
Rachel Weisz's white dress went completely transparent in her water scene in the first Mummy film, and the director CGI colored it in.

What a fucking awful movie
>Upon hearing about Rachel Weisz' lack of interest in the upcoming third installment of the mummy franchise [1], Fraser suggested that they kill Evey [Weisz] off via Plane Crash and focus on his distant relationship with his son.
>The plot would have revolved around Alex asking Rick (now a drunk and grizzly war vet) for help upon awakening an ancient evil in china
>the producers didn't like the idea claiming that they needed to cater to female viewers

no wonder Brendan didn't look happy during the filming.
Filming with Rachel Weisz was probably the best moments of his life and he wanted to cherish her loss by making her character not at all appear in the 3rd, as he is a drunk wasted man, saddened by the death of his wife.
>Be Brendan
>Come on set for many months to be faced with an imposter who the director tells you to pretend is your love interest
>wish you could hold Rachel Weisz in your arms like you did at the end scene of Mummy 1
>Know that day will never happen again, nor will you ever speak to Rachel again as your entire life goes down the drain after Mummy 3 is released
Returns was comfy as fuck, with fun action and a fairly unique premise. I can't think of many movies that have an entire family as leads in an action movie, maybe True Lies but the daughter in that only turns up at the end for high stakes climax.
The third one was a shitty mess that no one was asking for.

You can still peep a bit of nipple though. In the black dress too.

The Tom Cruise reboot looks very promising and I am rarely a fan of reboots.
Cruise is definitely the 100% perfect choice to play Rick! Apparently it will be set in Iraq so we will have an Iraqi Mummy.
>>67673458
I honesly dont want a full on action movie mummy.
I want my camp action back! fucking hire chris pratt and titwell

I like Tom Cruise as an actor just fine, but I don't think he has the right sort of charm that Brendan Fraser had in the first two movies. Cruise is too intense and, lets be honest here, a little bit crazy for the character to be like-able. I honestly can't remember the last character played by Tom Cruise that I would want to spend time with, while Fraser's Rick I would, which is one of the greatest strengths of the Mummy films and helps the comedy.
I'm sure the movie will be fun, but I wouldn't be surprised if the original script was edited by a studio so they can attach the Mummy franchise for extra publicity and recognition.

Why the hell would they think female viewers wouldn't like that?

Jack Reacher was a pretty like-able character.
But I get your point with Cruise playing mostly intense, crazy like characters. He does an excellent job at it no doubt (even went a little crazy in war of the worlds).

Yes, Rachel Weisz being in a movie that's got Yeti's re-enacting a football game with a henchman as the ball, complete with celebration, would have totally saved it.
