Is WB even going to care about the critics when it's making this kind of money?

With Zack Snyder comes controversy

But with controversy comes attention

And attention leads to free publicity

Idk I'm just rambling

You can't stop Snyder the outsider!

why the fuck is Snyder so controversial?

I can't even pretend to understand.

it hasn't hit 1billion yet but - LET'S GET THE SHIT EARLY STARTED.. WE DID IT LADS

Yes, given that they're only about half way to approximately breaking even.
>>
>>67648573

he's a bad director who appears incompetent at basic things yet gets given these giant franchises to work with

hes like a shit version of michael bay
>>
>>67648463

I only paid to see the movie because of the Critics piss poor ratings. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered, was simply intrigued into the cause of the panning

Either way it was a decent-good movie. More interesting than any Marvel movies to date although littered with flaws

The director's cut of the film will be absolute capekinography

Rumoured scenes:
>Extended North Africa opening segment, with Lois meeting Jimmy and being escorted to the warlord's compound by a group of operators on horseback.
>Another nightmare sequence where Bruce Wayne finds Robin's dead body while Wayne Manor burns to the ground, with the Joker's laugh echoing in the hallways.
>Another scene of Diana at a charity auction.
>Another few scenes of Bruce being depressed.
>Clark Kent interviewing inmates at Blackgate Penitentiary about Batman.
>Clark and Lois pillow talk.
>Superman having a nightmare about Metropolis' destruction.
>Superman having a vision of General Zod showing up in the Arctic to torment him.
>Extended Batmobile chase.
>Extended Batman VS. Superman including Batman's full speech.
>Extended Trinity VS. Doomsday with more violence.
>Extended epilogue with the funerals.
>The Communion scene.
>Some other scenes of Lex being villainous in private.
>>

You're right
You get tasteless plebs like >>67648630 pretending they understand the art of cinema praising it
>>

the future will tell us for BvS but for Man of Steel he made some really great trailer. For BvS too by the way, but I've learned my lesson with MoS
>>
>>67648573
His movies don't follow the accepted formula of Marvel, i.e. quips and humor

explain, because BvS, MoS, Dawn of the Dead, and Watchmen were pretty good to great.
>>
>>67648463
>And attention leads to free publicity

yeah, probably a lot of people that wouldn't have gone to see it, after reading the rotten score thought "come on, how bad could it be?", and then bought a ticket

BvS was bad. Ang Lee Hulk Bad.

MoS is about as good as Thor.

Watchmen was cape kino. That I agree

>Watchmen was cape kino.
Watchmen was a superficial reconstruction of a great comic by a pea brain director who only gets visuals that look neat.

Fuck. He didn't even get what made Miller's DKR tick and just lifted a couple scenes and loose ideas from it.

Avengers 2 and Thor 2 are still marked fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

as a marvelfan I'll be impressed only when it surpasses Amazing Spiderman 2

It needs to make 1 bill to break even and 2 bill for a satisfactory profit. It's still a failure.

surprise! it's bvs and superman is both lex's and batman's moby dick

>Ang Lee Hulk
>bad

It does have a lot of parallels with BvS though, in that it's a comic book movie where the director tried to include a bunch of serious themes and subtext and then got undeservedly shat on for it by pleb critics

This.

>1 bill to break even
Are you high? Budget was 250 mil including advertising. And even if you wanna throw an extra 50 mil for whatever reason they already made 500 mil. The movie is a success no matter how mad that makes you.
>>
>>67652608
advertising usually isn't included in budgets. its budget with advertising is around 400 million. since box office is split 50/50 between the studio and the theaters they would need 800 million to break even.
>>
>>67652608
It needs 800 million to prove that it was a good investment, also the budget was 400 million if you take into count advertisment.
Normally these movies need to make at least twice it's budget to consider them worth it.
I mean, you wouldn't buy a Ferrari for 1 million, and then sell it for $1.001.000, right?
It's too much effort just to get a thousand dollars.
>>
>Is WB even going to care about the critics when it's making this kind of money?

Fuck no. The only people who care about the "quality" of capeshit are losers who will buy tickets no matter what.
>>
>>67652608
>The movie is a success
you can call a jar of piss granny's peach tea ;)
>>
>>67652678
>>67652693
These are both true
This movie had the same budget as avengers, it should break at least 1b for Warner Bros to feel safe.

>it needs 2 billions to break even
or
>it needs 200 millions to break even

I'm confused
>>
>>67648436
depends in how much it gross. If it's transformers tier, they simply won't care
>>
the problem is with future movies

they've already played the batman v superman card after two fucking movies

superman has almost no where to go as a character

after this disaster of a movie, who the fuck is gonna see "DC Comics" and watch a movie about that faggot aquaman? or wonder woman movie when the actress can barely speak english?
>>
>>67648662
>Robin's dead body
So who did they cast as Robin then?
>>
>>67650882
if snyder did a adaption of TDK Returns it wouldve been much better than what we got
>>
>>67648436

That's really unfortunate.
>>
>>67653028
Snyder's son. I remember reading an article about it. Gimme a minute and I'll find it.
>>
>>67653028
idk but some pictures from Leto's Joker and Robins damaged suite hints that we're going to see a Batman Beyond style Joker
>>
>>67652952
400m+ is the budget
But they'll have to break 800m to break even.
And by the money spent on this, they should *at least* break 1b, if they want a chance to build the dcu. Avengers had the same budget and bith gross 2b+.
I didnt even see Avengers 2, because I thought it looked like a shitty mess, but I guess people loved it.
>>
>>67648817

>BvS was bad. Ang Lee Hulk Bad.

The fuck, man? This is Bizarro's World. Both movies are great.
>>
>>67648662
>Clark and Lois pillow talk.
This gone be good
>>
It's fucking batman vs superman big blockbuster movie, of course I'm gong to see it.
Critics have nothing to do with it.
>>
Dirsum tatsnurp git it thru ya hoe

Piss to ya mutha
>>
Yes

Although they'll make money on this, their real golden goose was to be the Justice League movie (much like how the Avengers movies are Marvel's)

After the reception BvS got, a lot of people aren't going to really care about the future movies and as a result, they won't make as much as they had hoped.

People seem to keep forgetting why shitty movies can still make money. You pay BEFORE you enter the cinema, not after
>>
>>67655091
Oh, surely you don't mean all those people who saw it, and said, "piss on those Critics, who the fuck are they anyway. Why, they gave the force awakens and Ultron a better grade, and star trek into darkness, all of which was shit. But this is some dreadful mess of a film? Fuck those critics."
You mean those people who bought tickets to the tune of 194 million dollars, those people? Those people who since Monday added 30 million dollars, Those people? You know Critics are getting a lot of flak for hating on this gem, right?
>>
>>67651872

>what is merchandise?
>what are crossover promotions?
>>
>>67648436
BvS cost 400 million, if marketing was included. Given that foriegn markets have weaker currencies and theaters cut to the film tickets sold, BvS would need at least 1 billion just to make even. These sort of numbers BvS is generating is pathetic. They already released their film all around the world. There's no other markets, yet BvS won't even reach a billion at this point. It's a failure. It's over. Let Marvel take over, DC can't make films.
>>
>>67655810
good point
the budget should be well over 400M+ then
>>
>>67648436
Who gives a shit?
