Not that guy but the thing in the hologram is very similar to Steppenwolf, one of Darkseid's (DC's big bad) elite soldiers. The three boxes he is holding are called mother boxes (made from Darkseid's world technology) and are used to teleport stuff, heal, gain power, etc.
