Is RDJ saving up to become real life Iron Man?
>budget for both is 1 billion
so according to hollywood standards, how much does this need to make to break a profit
also fuck splitting up a movie into two parts
a drop in the bucket for the capekino that it'll produce
>>67602261
it's going to the end of the MCU. Both critically, commercially, and story wise.
Marvel is just going to throw it all the wall and see what happens
+$500 million marketing
>>67602261
Two parts split across a year?
Will anyone give a shit once the second part comes out? How the fuck can you maintain the hype for a year, and that's even IF the movie is good.
They're really putting all their eggs in one basket with this movie and gambling on it.
Marvel is dead. Bury it.
>>67602417
Have the first movie end with Thanos having assembled the gauntlet and heading towards Earth.
Not surprising the average budget for part 1 is probs 500 mill and is part 2
>>67602454
Is that really going to take almost 3 hours to set up?
And what, you're going to have nearly 3 hours more of pure chaotic fight scenes?
The end of Avengers 2 gave me a headache I've never received from a movie since I saw Transformers.
>>67602303
Each part is guaranteed to make a billion each. This is marvel we're talking about brah
>>67602454
Pretty much this. Or have the movie end right when thanos kills half the universe by snapping his fingers
>>67602303
>so according to hollywood standards, how much does this need to make to break a profit
depends on the marketing, let's assume $500m for both. the studio gets ~55% of the box office revenue, so to make $1.5b it'd need to break $2.7b.
So ~$1.35b per movie
I'm not a communist but I don't think an actor should be paid 200 million for standing around in a motion capture suit
Honestly they can fuck off now.
Splitting the film is going to be a huge mistake.
>>67602435
Lol I hope this gains meme status
>>67602371

>>67602618
He's got jokes. Normies love jokes
>>67602417
this shit is going to have every superhero man
they also still have black panther coming out AFTER the first part
>>67602618
His screen presence in Iron Man 1 and 2 "made" the entire MCU. He has earned way more money for the studio than they've paid him
>Marvel Studios is still very much in the early stages of planning for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2. In fact, Bleeding Cool also reported that a script for the blockbuster hasn’t even been created yet, and they’re still ironing out the plot. Despite this lack of information, it’s been teased that several Avengers characters are likely to die in the film.
So basically they've been teasing this thing for 8 years now, but they have no idea what to actually do with it so they're throwing an obscene amount of money at it hoping that plebes will shit themselves over the spectacle
how exciting.
>>67602687
>Manlet
>Wearing high heels
Christ my sides
>>67602417
I'm sure it'll flop just like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant Man
>>67602687
If you just covered up the gap between the heel and the sole, you wouldn't even know he was wearing heels. Why would they leave it like that?
>>67602687
>RDJ just had to put on one really good performance since his career collapsed to take a major studio hostage and make them pay whatever he wants or risk losing him
The absolute fucking mad man
>>67602579
That scene was fantastic and is the perfect note to end part 1 on, but the MCU is too sanitized for it.
Robert Downs Junior really phoned it in for Avengers 2. he just looked bored, sounded bored and his witty one liners were just stale memes.
cant Marvel see this one trick pony is a done deal.
>>67602687
He always has this weird posture, it annoys me.
>A whopping $200 million of this total will go straight into the pocket of Robert Downey, Jr.

>>67602816
He is not just any manlet. He is their king.
>>67602772
They'll do it.
It's not that graphic. In fact you could just do this last page shot for shot and roll credits as soon as he snaps his fingers.
It'll be teasing as fuck for part 2.
the examine text of a monster in god wars dungeon v2 which was released today on runescape
Will this make or break the MCU? I think mainstream interest and the comic boom will die down after this, I doubt they could set up another major villain, MAYBE someone like Kang since they are doing Inhumans right after but I really don't see anything after Infinity War sitting well with the general audience who doesn't really know comics. They originally signed on to see: Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hawkeye fight and punch shit. I really don't think a post-Infinity War Avengers film will be able to draw in the same crowd like the first one did, the contracts from the original will be over and done with and they'll have a bunch of literal WHO'S!? along with Spider-Man to try and keep the normie crowd but it won't stake.
The next step will probably be more along the lines of a niche audience in things like Netflix TV series like with Daredevil which has proved successful.
So with the inevtiable downfall of the MCU after Infinity War, what replaces the current superhero trend, Animeshit, Vidyashit?
>>67602859
ffs i meant to start a new thread, fuck this website
>>67602788
>>67602816
When you're getting paid that much how he simply phone it in?
This guy either knows that whatever he does he'll get paid for or that he simply doesn't care about earning these fat paycheques so much that he wants to get off this one trick pony.
>>67602261
Does he have some information on Marvel/Disney that they don't want anyone to know about, that he uses to blackmail out those paychecks?
but to be fair RDJ does more promotion for the movies on social media than Marvel, also normies love him
>>67602564
yes
It needs $5 billion just to break even
>>67602788
He did say that he enjoyed his time filming CW like he didn't in years.
Probably referencing to Whedon and what happened with the Iron Man sequels.
>>67602883
Does something really need to replace capeshit?
Can't we just have a fully capeshit free period?
I'd be so glad to see the MCU breaking into pieces in 2019, and then all the actors in it not being able to get a proper job.
>>67602303
Marvel has gone on record saying that the Parts 1 and 2 will be two distinct movies.
with that kind of money he can finally get those leg lengthing surgery
>>67602883
After that they'll keep doing movies, but they'll tone down the scale of the conflicts.
Not everything needs to be a conflict throughout the entire galaxy.
>>67603001
That's because Whedon blocks his shots like it's a TV show. Easy, cheap and fast, not much effort required from anyone on set. Make it look expensive later in post
>>67602919
No, normies just fell in love with him after Iron Man and he was able to hold the studio hostage when negotiating a new contract because Marvel literally could not lose him at that point
all the other avengers actors now hate RDJ because he's getting paid 10 times as much as they are is. it really did show in Avengers 2 .. the chemistry is dead.
1 BILLION DOLLARYDOOS?!
Memes aside. If this flops, it will kill marvel.
>>67602261
so this is our chance to kill by just watching the camrip right g-guys
Marvel is getting so desperate lol
BvS ruslted the fuck out of their jimmys
>>67602979

>>67602454
Either:
First half we get Cosmic Marvel face Thanos and stop from getting to Earth and second movie is Everyone vs Thanos on Earth
OR
First Thano comes to Earth and wipes the floor with Avengers, then Cosmic Marvel came to help and the second movie take place in space.
>>67602261

that's because of whedon
you can instantly tell his acting is on point for Civil War trailers because the russos are better than whequip
>>67603202
What kind of shoes are those
>>67603190
Not their agents' fault. You need a ton of leverage to negotiate something like this and Downey had more than all of them combined because his movies jump started the entire universe

Maybe in China or w/e, but in America the studios take almost the entirety of the box office revenue. It's why concession prices are so goddamn high, theaters get next to nothing from the ticket price so they make all their money through ads and concessions
>>67602261
good, RDJ doesnt want to do it anymore and Disney knows that they wont get a fucking dime if he isn't in them
>>67603113

>>67603236
The kind that manlets wear
>>67603358
I imagine he'll come to Earth to try and get one of the infinity stones.
Otherwise he has no motive for being there, even IF he wanted to fight the superheroes on Earth.
>>67603358
they'll depower the gauntlet for the movies
>>67603358
He'll have to go to Earth first since at least one of the Infinity gems is on Earth since Vision has the mind gem, or souls gem or whatever the fuck it was.
No matter how much money he makes he'll never stop being a manlet.
>>67603358
>He can literally kill them light years away by snapping his finger

Hollywood accounting, have you not heard of it?
>>67602312

>>67603343
Yeah but each of the films had a book counterpart, and so far every time a movie's been split into two the plot is spread thin
>tfw same height as RDJ
there's still hope in this world
'meh. That's sensationalizing. Even if it's true, that's only $500 million each, which is big, but not surprising. If anybody would spend that much on anything it'd be Disney on The Avengers, and if any movie could make that money back and them some, it'll be these.
Also-
>all these people talking about how it'll be a failure
You know it won't. You're allowed to personally dislike something without resorting to absurd conclusions that contradict pretty much every possible way you could look at the reality. It'll make more money than god, and you'll have to live with that. And its definitely not the end of anything. This gravy train might level out, but it'll never crash.
>>67602883
Yeah this most likely will be the culmination of cape shit and they're going to start scaling back to tv shows and younger actors
>>67603515
>the plot is spread thin
Honestly my biggest gripe with AoU was the total lack of pause between scenes, they simply had too much material for the duration, this is just gonna get worse when the GotG join the Avengers in IW
>>67603358
He needs the stone Vision has in his forehead. And we still missing 2 other stones, it is almost for sure tha Dr Strange will have one or be heavy linked with 1 of them.
Good. He should be paid for appearing in such shit.
>>67602303
about 2.2 billion
>2nd Avengers makes less than 1st

>Russos make 1 good movie

>>67603618
AoU was all around garbage, mainly because I don't think Whedon knew what he was doing
>>67603358
Earth is literally the center of the MU
Its probably the same for the MCU
>>67602417
There will be two other marvel movies coming out in the gap between Part 1 and Part 2
>>67603713
Which was pretty weird considering how tight the first movie was, the second was so stretched out and plodding, with the last 30 mins being pure noise.
>>67603713
>I don't think Whedon knew what he was doing
While Whedon has some fault, the studio had some fault too. For example Whedon didn't want to include the Thor prophecy scene, and it was Marvel decision to make Stark the creator of Ultron and not Pym.
>>67603880
I think that since they saw the success of the first Avengers movie they gave Whedon free reign and carte blanche
>>67603639
>>67603358
>Downey's father is of half Lithuanian Jewish, one quarter Hungarian Jewish, and one quarter Irish descent,[5]
Now it makes sense. I always wondered why he negotiated for such ridiculous amounts of money.
>>67604022
>>67603919
>it was Marvel decision to make Stark the creator of Ultron and not Pym.
This I simply couldn't understand. Ant-Man came out not long after this, they seriously couldn't have gone with the original plot? It would've given Ant-Man more hype and backstory with Hank Pym's real genius.
>>67604137

>>67604259
Hopefully Karen Gillan.
>>67604183
he got only 500.000 for the first IM, the actor who first played Rhodey got more than him in this movie
he gets now those ridiculous amounts of money because he is popular

>>67604263

You just forgot Age of Ultron post-credit scene "Fine, I'll do it myself"
>end of 1st movie
>Massive fight happening
>lots of action, cliffhanger
>Movie 2 opens
>Slow start and set up
Why does this FUCKING SHIT annoy me so much
>>67604022
Quite the opposite actually.
By the time Avengers 2 came into production Marvel studios had already mapped out their Cinematic universe up to 2019 so they forced Whedon to add in a lot of shit like the Thor pool scenes. Whedon repeatedly said he had a lot of studio meddling with AoU and it annoyed him.
Cool.
Soon RDJ can start producing Mel Gibson movies on his own.
I want Marvel shills to leave.
>>67604215
Yeah they really should've gone with Pym, it's just plain retarded to have Tony create both Ultron and Vision, Bruce even said 'this is exactly where it all went wrong'
>>67604370

>>67603202
>everyone dressed in rags except Back to the Future guy, Robert, and Scarlet waifu

This is true but I honestly suspect they'd do just fine without RDJ these days. Everything he does outside of the MCU is a total flop.
>>67604409

>>67604137

>>67603618

>>67604568
Nope, Disney and Feige can simply not make an IM4 movie, RDJ still has a contract for Avengers. Honestly I don't think they will hire Mel at all ;_;
>>67604585
Interest's going to drop off after Infinity War because all their contracts are going to run out and I think they'll be sick of the movies as well.

>>67602883
I don't think we'll see another Avengers movie for some time after Infinity War finally ends; we'll see a handful of solo ventures from other Marvel characters, but then it will slowly die down or off. It usually takes another trend to snuff out s big trend so that's sort of what everyone is waiting for. Maybe the rebirth of Star Wars will knock Marvel down a peg, DC seems to be on the ropes already so I have no idea what they're going to do, or some other new franchise will come in (maybe we'll actually see Avatar Sequels).
I hope they keep the television series for a little while at least. I know DD has plenty of material to pull from, I don't know about JJ or Luke Cage though. I could see them making a Defenders film and try to to hype it up to be the next Avengers but I don't know.
>>67604735

>>67602303
500 million per movie + 150 million marketing and distribution so around 1.3 billion.

>>67604821
Oh I've got no doubt JL will happen. I just don't see Synder being attached or them going with their original plans. They should honestly scrap their current schedule and do the solo Batman film and another film that introduces more of the side characters (like Aquaman, WW,etc) I don't think every JL member should have a solo movie because no one would watch a Aquaman, Cyborg, or Wonder Woman movie (GL and Flash might work). But it they're just going to jump into JL now it will be even more disastrous than BvS
>>67605002
Bleeding Edge was stupid as fuck. They fixed it now.
>>67604889
Also with Inhumans, Captain Marvel and GotG they can expand the Cosmic Marvel, getting a Nova standalone movie, etc... By the time IW finish Marvel may get FF rights back to make even more Cosmic Marvel.
>>67605042
It'd make sense though, in IM3 Tony made an armor that could be called remotely but it's obviously not fast enough, the next step would be to plant an armor inside him, also goes well with the fact that he's paranoid now

Yeah, it's not as if the one billion is "real" money anyways. Loans, shell companies and tax incentives. Is there some reading about how they do this in China? How do they move the money away from taxes or any kind of other payments?
>>67602770
Its true. When avengers came out me dear ol mum begged me to take her so I did. After we get out I asked her what she thought she frowned and replied "I wish robert Downey jr. Had more screentime"

>>67603515
That's WHEN a story doesn't require it.
Infinity War and the related events before/after is a pretty massive story. Having two two and a half hour movies is pretty reasonable for it.
I think I'd rather have that then one 3 and a half or four hour movie. There have been retroactive changes to movies so that they can cash in more, but with a 1 000 000 000 budget, all those characters, and all that set up, they have a lot to work with.
>>67602883
Infinity War is the only Post-Civil War Marvel film I'm interested in at all, because holy shit who the fuck could possibly care about the Inhumans or another GotG meme movie
>>67605588
No? Avengers only opened in America. I had to wait a week for my country to get Avengers.
Of course a worldwide opening sells more than an American-only one.
>>67605452
When you put it that way, I can see how the success can last. But once it's done. It's DONE. I think they know this though.
I know /tv/ is sick of capeshit, and personally it peaked already for me. But if they play their cards right and get all the licensing like that going through.
It'll beat the Harry Potter franchise by its end, which it probably has already. For Disney the budget is chump change.
>>67605646

>>67605785
i wasn't talking to you faggot
>>67605722
>Benedict Cumberbatch
lost all interest fucking immediately
>>67605452
>This is the end of the most successful franchise in movie history
The ride never ends anon... not until we reach a point of oversaturation, and honestly if anyone's gonna kill capeshit again it'll be DC.
>>67605734
can you even read he means the last airbender moron
>>67605452
Wait, so after Infinity War, Marvel is done with movies? Fat fucking chance.
>tfw the Stan Lee cameo won't be possible for both these movies
>>67605730
i wouldn't call it a success either
>>67605722
Dr Strange is either going to follow the source material and the tumblr landwhales will hate it because it's not quirky and too hard to understand, or they'll pander to those faggots and it will be shit.
this is getting out of control
>>67605820
I know what he meant you idiot, Last Airbender made twice its budget, is that what you call a bomb?
>>67605832
Why not?
>>67605722
If Dr. Strange ends up like anything you described or in those panels it'll be the most loved on the internet for just how fucking weird and Lovecraftian it will be.
>>67602772
>kills half the universe by snapping his fingers
AMERICANS PAY FOR THIS SHIT
>>67605891
I call your mother a bomb
>>67605722
>>67605945
>Lovecraftian
>PG-13
Not gonna happen, and the movie is already filming so they can't learn from Deadpool's success and make it an R rated movie.
>>67605749
There are 2 routes: Reboot - All characters are rebooted, new storylines, new enemies, possibly new origins, AKA Ultimate Universe. OR Phase 4 - Bucky or Falcon become the new Captain, we get female Thor, new GotG rooster, Spiderman sequels, etc...
>>67603053
The russos do the same plus grey filter.
>>67604309
>only 500000
>>67605950
>he unironically complains about Americans on an American Board on an American invention
Erik simply Erik
money laundering and marketing. There's no way they're spending much on the garbage cgi they put in these movies.
>>67605722
they have the most creative license due to it being less popular, should be good.
>>67606021
>Internet
>American invention
not this meme again
>>67606053
or it'll be GotG meme trash with "the silly alien Bendydick man"
>>67605858
They'll see it for bender cucumbersnatch
>>67604767
Yeah, theyre all really hurting financially with all those record openings and multi billion dollar profits
A little tip: just because you and 4chan dont like a movie doesnt mean a studio is on the ropes
Capeshit isnt going anywhere
>>67606072
Al Gore invented the internet, motherfucker
>>67602261
>a fan fiction will have the highest movie budget ever
>>67606072
World Wide Web =/= Internet
>>67606002
Well Scott Derickson posted edgy cosmic horror related phrases in twitter and Feige confirmed the dark dimension so we have to cross our fingers that they will not fuck up this time. This is Kevin "favorite child" we are talking about.
>>67602261
So...this movie has to make approximately ALL THE FUCKING MONEY IN THE WORLD to be profitable?
>>67606147
and?
without world wide web there'd be no 4chan, you're welcome amerifats
>>67602261
I hope it flops.
>>67606158
still making it PG-13 means they can't show any explicit stuff, wasted potential
>>67602618
Without him you can't have an Avengers movie. And no one else will ever be able to play Iron Man because of him. He is literally priceless, like it or not
>>67606193
And without the ARPANET, there would be no world wide web or fat hookup sites for your mum
>>67602261
Disney wouldn't pay that if they didn't think they were making a good deal. They aren't in the business of making bad deals
>>67604137
Wait wasn't Loki's staff given to him by Thanos? Why the fuck did Thanos give an infinity gem to Loki if he's trying to collect them all? And him not knowing it's an infinity gem is just stupid.
>>67602883
This. It'll be the peak before the end of capeshit. I guarantee no one will give a shit about Inhumans after thi.
>>67606227
And without Ben Franklin you would be cracking rocks in caves
>>67605352
doesn't look like it, that one seems to be a bit broader in design.
>>67606260
He gave Loki an infinity gem to recover another infinity gem (tesseract), Thanos thought it would be easy going and Loki couldn't possibly fail
>>67603012
its been ten years of this shit and they haven't made two distinct movies
>>67606260
Loki in MCU is a smooth talker, I'd imagine he can be persuasive when he wants something
>>67604259
You obviously haven't seen AoU... Dumbass.
>>67606310
That's still pretty retarded, gambling the only infinity gem he has to get only one other, on a guy who has only been previously defeated and barely knows how to use the gem.
>>67606338
>GotG - Space Opera parody
>Antman - Heist comedy
>Thor - Romantic comedy
>Cap 2 - Political Thriller action movie
I'm not saying all movies are good, in fact like 70% of them are bad, but besides IM and Avengers (MUH EVIL CORPORATE GUY AND ARMY OF NO NAME GUYS), most other movies has a distinctive feel
>>67606393
Loki knew where the gem he was looking for was though.
>mfw the capeshit fad dies before it gets released
I'm actually grateful.
They could've made it for sub 50 mil, and just focused their attention on counting money. But they're gonna go all out, and that's chill.
What are the best MCU movies?
Winter Soldier, Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy?
>>67607059
Winter Soldier
Ant Manfuck you I liked it Iron Man 3
>>67607059
Sure if you have shit taste.
its Iron Man, Thor 2, and Avengers.
>>67604549
Im guessing so people wouldnt figure out early what was what.
>>67602303
fun fact: movie gross is not really important for marvel since they mostly have to sell toys and merchandising
>>67607059
Iron Man
Iron Man 3
The First Avenger
Dasit mane
>>67607059
Basically what you mentioned plus Iron Man 1
>>67602261
This is it, brother.
The movie that crashes capeshit with no survivour.
After this, Marvel will have to take their meme spouting, quip saying, time mwasting trash and fuck off forever.
i specially find delicious how the death of capeshit movies will also crash the whole of the western comics market with it, since no capeshit advertisment, means deceasing sells in an already dying market.
>>67606772
Will normies ever grow tired of Superheroshit? I don't see them getting fatigue just yet, are they even showing signs of it?
>>67607277
this.
They keep their proprety fresh.
Comics, cartoons, vidya, toys
They will bank a shit ton for a long time.
>>67606139
its not 4chan dough. It's the whole film industry
>>67607358
>SJWs and other shits grow tired of forcing diversity in the books and movies, despite not really reading them
>Marvel end up going bankrupt because they've lost track of who their audience is now with the Capeshit fad ending with Infinity War
So what happens to Diamond and comics in general once Marvel becomes official dead once IW hits?
>DC intentionally sandbags BvS
>Marvel spends a billion dollars
>everyone fucking sick to death of capeshit by 2018
>Marvel goes tits-up
>Disney cannibalizes the studio and sells off what it can
DCucks will get the last laugh
>>67607493
Negro a billion is nothing for Disney, they made 52 billions last year alone
>2 parts
Why does every franchise feel the need to do this now?
>>67607655
That's not how conglomerates work, son. You cut off the dead weight, you don't try to revive it with cash from your successful organizations.
>>67607751
Because Harry proved it worked?
>>67607751
Same reason all AAA games have paid DLC. You'll complain about it but you'll still give them your money.
