Why did the actress accept to do these scenes? Anyone who reads the script will know that it's pure fanservice porn. Sure, sex scenes may have meaning and artistic value, but not the ones in this movie, they are crude and look like something you'd see on a hardcore porn video rather than in an acclaimed art movie. It's painfully obvious these sex scenes are there for the audience and not for any artistic reason. You'd expect something more tasteful than that.

Dismissing this film because it's a LGBT themed film is just plain edginess and further proves that you've likely never interacted with a girl beyond talking to mummy.
The film perfectly encapsulates in an incredibly feelsy, real and confronting way of what a lot of actual relationships feel like.
It's long because the film isn't about having a fancy story. The film lingers and gives the audience time to observe the character in her daily life and how she's affected by the events that unfold. They also give you as an audience member time to reflect on your own life.
