I'm going on a train ride tomorrow that takes 13hrs. Obviously taking the same train ride after some time, 13hrs. I was wondering what movies do you think are suitable to watch on a train? No massive nudity or gore scenes. Smoking, drugs, action and all of that are cool. Some nude scenes are also okay, but not over-the-top. I love movies like Gone Girl, The Social Network, The Imitation Game, Rounders, Fight Club (maximum level of gore), Moneyball, Limitless.. What movies would you recommend me? I like 2hr "drama" movies with some action scenes here and there..

And no, this is not bait. I do genuinely like these kind of movies.

Collateral
The Taking Of Pelham 123 (1974)
3:10 To Yuma

The only two movies I've ever watched in public on my phone were Blue Caprice and Yojimbo.

Blue Caprice worked out well.

Yojimbo didn't retain much of it's comfiness or immersion through all of the distractions around me.
>>
if ur a fincher fan watch se7en
>>
Zodiac
>>
>>67582117

>>67582157

>>67582159
thanks, will check them out. it's always weird watching movies in public, feel like i'm being constantly judged for enjoying movies that aren't beige, plain and simple

>Doesn't want to watch drive
Why are you such a faggot?
>>
>>67582324
i've seen it three times, no joke. just can't get myself to like it....honestly have no idea why
>>
Just finish all of Harry Potter, Star Wars and/or LOTR/Hobbit.
>>
>>67582347

>>
>>67582117
he listed three you cuck. learn to count.
>>
Sounds like a perfect trip for watching Kieślowski's Dekalog.
>>
>>67582425
ah nah i don't really care about that stuff...i like what i like, if someone disagrees that's fine. doesn't mean i bother trying to understand why though...i won't use energy on that shit. i do read constructive critisicm (did i spell that right?) for movies i like though, that doesn't ruin them for me. but coming to /tv/ after a premiere of a movie i like...nah son
>>
>>67582250
it'd be fun, but i ain't got the internet for downloading that haha
>>
>>67582241

>>

Where are you going that you'll be on a train for 13 hours?
>>
>>67582784
I'm going to school in a town called Mosjoen in Norway, and I'm going to see a band called Baroness in Oslo, the capital of Norway. it takes 13hrs with train to get there...first stop in Trondheim, wait for about half an hour and then continue on.
>>
Fuck what everybody says Panic Room is great.
>>
>>67582860
i am in Mosjoen right now, if you didn't catch that haha...so Mosjoen-Oslo with train.
>>
>>67582860
That's a pretty long trip even by car.
>>
>>67581709
Whiplash
>>
>>67582925
yeah by car it would take way longer because of the weird roads in norway. it's totally worth it though, I love Baroness and it's kinda rare having bands I like play in Norway
>>
Snowpiercer cuz youre on a train
>>
>>67581709
maybe watch bridge of spies if you haven't alrady
>>
>>67582952
thanks for the tip, but i just recently rewatched it. i really like movies like that...i dunno why, i think it's because they show more than just constantly something happening...it helps build up the character(s) i think, makes me "believe" it more if u know what i mean

>>
>>67583033

>>67583042
someone already recommended it and i'm downloading it rn..thanks for the tip though!
>>
>>67583065
I hope you aren't downloading these movies in crappy JYK/YIFY quality anon... At least go for WEB-DLs
>>
>>67583191
I really wish I could, believe me...YIFI's the only thing my internet can handle atm...or it's not even mine, it's my neighbour's internet. he's a cool guy and lets me use it even though the signal doesn't reach that far into my apartment. the guy I rent to (is that the correct way to put it?) is known as a "loan shark", dunno if that says you anything...and basically he fucks up the internet that's included in my contract for renting this place. me and my gf is currently getting money help from our families to afford a lawyer to fuck this guy up. he's doing this to many people. our basement with our washing machine is flooded and we can't get to it...so we have to pay to get home to either of our families (that don't live here) to get our clothes washed. he makes new accounts somehow to get us internet, and after the "free 2 month trial" he closes it, leaves us without internet for about 1 month, and then he does the same thing again. he's breaking the contract...he's doing so much more shit, but english is not my first language and it's really hard to explain this shit in english hahah......so basically everything my (neighbours) internet can handle is YIFI's 700mb... am i embarassed? yes
>>
>>67583378
Damn anon, that's terrible. Good luck with the litigation.

Just for future reference, if you don't have much bandwidth to spend on downloading movies, you should go for SD encodes instead of the "720p" and "1080p" YIFY type stuff, and upscale them with a good media player like MPC-HC or mpv. They will look better because they're not so bitstarved, and the audio quality will be far superior too.
>>
>>67583511
hey thanks I will definitely check this out, thanks! i'd reaaaally appreciate better audio quality on the stuff i download, almost every movie i've downloaded from YIFI has shit audio quality. it messes up my ears, man
>>

>>
>>67583599
Yes, YIFY's audio quality is notoriously terrible because they use 92kbps AAC audio which is just pitiful.

With a DVD encode you would be most likely getting 700kbps DTS 5.1 audio, or higher bitrate stereo audio at the very least.

If you can't find an SD encode for some movies you should at least grab the RARBG low-end encodes which are around 1-1.5GB for 720p and 2-3GB for 1080p, a bit better than YIFY's garbage and way better audio.

>>67584072
Careful with those, not sure about all of them, but Requiem for a Dream has a really lewd ass to ass scene and Passion of the Christ is notoriously gory
>>
>>67584252
yeah i saw it on IMDb...I check the Parents Guide on each of the movies you guys recommend just to be sure hahaha
>>
You have just enough time to watch Out 1. Perhaps not exactly what you're looking for, but I highly recommend it.
>>
>>67584418
