>motion interpolation
>>
>>67550207
so? that's kinda why we have computers
>>
>>67550229
What?
>>
>pre-interpolated trash

nah

film is also never going to bump up the FPS because of how much they rely upon motion blur to make fight scenes look faster than they are. Also the current practice of filming cars moving at 15-25mph and trying to act like its "high speed" would look retarded in 60fps.
>>
>>67550284
So 60fps is for competent filmmakers then.
>>
>>67550113
I've tried showing 60fps stuff to people I know. They just don't seem to get it.

I think I'm the only one who can appreciate the difference.
>>
>>67550269
to interpolate, dumbo, it makes what would be an otherwise crappy 24fps look decent
>>
>>67550314
yes, 60fps for for filmmakers who don't employ any currently existing method of filming.
>>
>>67550113
The webm looks like it's from a video game.
>>
>>67550113
60FPS may look good in documentaries or sporting events, but this looks like shit.

No it doesn't because of horrible artifacting. Look at the hair on OP's video for instance. Just disgusting.
>>
>>67550339

>>

That's because it's from Avatar.
>>

Aren't you the special snowflake then?
>>
motion blur
>>
People don't get it
If it's on torrentz it's already mainstream
>>
>>67550424
That's not the case. Only amongst people I know is this true. It's just not that mainstream yet.
>>
>interpolation
>new

They've been shipping TVs with interpolation features for years. The results are a mixture of terrible and unholy. Just like all the pre-interpolated video files you can find.
>>
>>67550284
i thought motion blur depended more on the shutter angle than the frame rate?
>>
>>67550559
more framerate -> shutter open for less time -> less motion blur
>>
>>67550113
Why can't Blu Rays play in 60 fps??
>>
>>67550752
Probably because the source material is 24fps.
>>
>>67550775
ohhh yeaaa. well blu rays are shit then
>>
>>67550113
>60fps remake
>Slow motion is 60% of the trailer

No wonder Joss the cuck was fucking fired.
>>
>>67550622
i know, but is 60fps really the limit to where you can't widen the shutter angle any more to compensate?
>>
60fps porn is the best thing holy shit

try it.
>>
>>67550815
I have a 240p porn video that I so would die to see in 60fps. is it possible senpai?
>>
>>67550815
yeah cinematic porn just doesn't work
>>
wish me luck guys
>>
>>67550802
No. But it does extremely limit the amount of motion blur that can be added to slow shit to make it seem fast.

>>
>>67550903
If it was filmed in 24 fps (it was), then all you're downloading is around 12gigs worth of interpolated frames and 10gigs of movie.
>>
>>67550914
They can just add motion blur in afterwards
>>
>>67550113
Higher FPS shows are already a thing and people don't like it.
Theatres also can't play anything above 24 FPS except for those that were upgraded for The Hobbit, which people also didn't like.
>>
>>67551095
Which looks even worse.
>>
>>67550959

any good movies out there in 60fps?
>>
>>67551320
Literally nothing has been filmed in 60fps except for some porn. Which is actually hard to find because there's a lot of interpolated porn.
>>
>>67551367
Well fuck it then. It looks like shit anyway
>>
I grew up with shitty technology, resolution and graphics. I had a big block TV until 2014. 60 FPS just looks like Benny Hill shorts to me, it's way too fucking fast.

Yes I realize this is my own fault and is easily correctable but it will seriously ruin my movie experience if I watch something right off the bat with this FPS.
>>
>>67551537
It really depends. Sports broadcast in 60fps, does that look like benny hill?

But then again, interpolation does legitimately seem to fuck up the framerate somehow, resulting in the benny hill effect.
>>
Only really young people can stand this.
People who regularly play videogames.

Seriously I see nothing but "this makes me dizzy" and "I hate it"

I dunno the thing in the OP looks okay.
>>
I don't like it but I don't know why. Someone explain
>>
I think 60fps looks good for actors in motion but one thing I can;t stand is the camera movement at 60fps. For some reason it just looks too quick and weird.
>>
>>67551720
Everyone can stand it. Half of normlafags have interpolation in their TV's on, they just don't know about it.
>>
>>67550113
That looks great. It looks really smooth. The speed up people are mentioning is just because it looks smoother but they are too stupid to understand that.
>>
>>67551882

>too stupid to understand that

>The immediate perceptual experience of a viewer is somehow a rational misunderstanding.

Your sense organs are too dulled by capeshit to to judge quality on anything other than exactly what some marketing board with a boner for new tech wants you to think.
>>
what about 4k 60fps videos? is that the ultimate for now?
>>
The only thing that stands the test of time is 2D 24fps.
Everything else is a fad.

>60fps video is too fast; it looks like Benny Hill
It's literally as fast as 24fps video.
>>
>>67552497
>looks fast
>is fast

Learn the difference. Is it so hard to accept that people not accustomed to higher fps need time to adapt to it?
>>
>>67552466

Just fapped. Pretty good.

Reminds me that the issue is never the new framerate or teachnology or whatever, but it's carefully considered deployment. The problem is that the creatives that figure out how to use these things well are being replaced by the normalfags who invent them. This is not a line to be blurred.

I don't know what to tell you. Yes, for me it looks out of place. I am definitely struggling to adapt to it, although I understand how you can enjoy more fluid motions if you're already accustomed. You can't just go "no, you don't have any problems with it because I don't".

Exactly. People in this thread talking as though it were a decision of preference between, say, dirty or clean drinking water. It's not a question of rationalizing it till you can enjoy it, it's about accepting your experience of it. I think it looks shit. End of.
