After dan harmon left in season 4 it was terrible. First 3 seasons were so good I actually bought the dvds to support the show. (I hardly ever do that) dan harmon comes back in 5 and 6 I think but I haven't watched those

First three seasons is very dense. Its not 2 1/2 men where a laugh track tells you its funny. It's based on realistic social interaction so an autist wouldn't get the humor.

Season 1 was pretty good, but definitely got better the later half of the season
Season 2-3 are classic sitcom
Season 4 was mediocre but still watchable
Season 5 was just okay
Season 6 was getting back into the swing of it but lackluster. Ended pretty well.
It will only be remembered fondly by a small group of people.
SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE
It was good up until they started the Air Conditioning School subplot. The rest of it (with the exception of paintball, which was okay since it was once a season and actually enjoyable) seemed like actual stuff that could happen at a shitty community college.Jeff Winger best character

I would agree, but I would say the decline was gradual, followed by sharp in season 4.
When they recycled ideas that are themselves recycled ideas everybody has done (paintball episode is so fucking tired), I pretty much checked out.
Also, the flanderization of Brita (sp?) was so fucking bad. She went from believable character to complete punching bag simply because of fan service. That seems pretty weak.
I'd put 6 above 4 but that's it. The replacement characters are actually not awful but a lot of the episodes felt rushed and unpolished. (which they were, Dan Harmon said himself that he wrote some pages of the scripts an hour before they were shot)

I actually don't know. I mean, I clearly love the characters (or at least what they originally were), and objectively speaking there are more good episode than bad ones. But I still can't say for sure if it was good.
Look, I spent a good part of the show hating on the direction it took and then the other time hating on how they couldn't direct it back to what made it so good, but I was still deeply moved by the finale, and looked back fondly at my time spent with the show.
So I dunno, maybe?
