Give me your honest opinion: is anyone here at all looking forward to Avatar 2?
The first was a great story of man entering an alien's body and then later becoming a group with those aliens.
I see no reason to make a sequel on a story that finished its conclusion.

Caught it on television again last month and put it on in the background, and I honestly couldn't understand why people where hyped about it in the first place. Part of it has to do with the proliferation of CGI and graphics, the other part is the fact that its a mediocre film.
Nobody is hyped about Avatar 2 and not very many people will be when its finally completed in 2030.
I am not interested at all, Cameron's post-T2 work is uninteresting and underwhelming and I wonder if there's anyone at all who is genuinely looking forward a sequel to Avatar.

It was a tech demo for IMAX3D. It excelled at that. Now after 3D has become an annoyance it has to be good in its own right. It won't be jack shit against Star Wars and capefilms. Maybe give it an R rating and it'll get on my radar. We need some hard R crazy sci fi action/war films.

Not even the biggest of Cameron fan boys think Avatar had a great story. It has been done to death and there isn't a single well written character in the movie. It had great technical achievements and made more money than any movie ever. There is really nothing else to say about it.

It's made for cinema spectacle and specifically for 3d. Outside of that, it's exactly as you already said, completely generic.

1. Cameron has the clout to extend the time when his film is done, and is known to work hard to make the best possible movie he can. It'll be done when it's done.
2. He's supposedly making them all at the same time, ala the LOTR or the Matrix sequels.
3. He has a deal with Disney, with making an attraction at one of their parks. Not to mention, if he extends when it comes out, it means less competition. Like how Deadpool made bank cause it had little competition.
I was hyped for Avatar for 4 years before it came out, and wasn't disappointed. What kind of faggot expected more than great visuals and action? If you were looking for revolutionary plot and existential questions, you've never seen a Cameron movie before, and/or you like faggot frogshit 'film'.
