I don't understand the hate for this movie at all, only complaint is how cheesy the katana slice looked when it bisected his head and just slid off, that really took me out of the movie for a second but it was near the end anyways

The gun kata shit is cool and bale is a good actor who pulls more than his weight compared to rest of cast, villain is made convincing even if shallow Orwell ripoff, action well done

It does everything an action movie needs to do in order to be entertaining and deserves better than it got

You seem to be mixing up fun and good as the same category.

There are reasons cult classics are highly regarded yet critically panned.
Lost in space, the room and other such movies are terrible but deserve to be called so, enjoyment can be had but not for the original intentions of their creators but more of a parody of its representation.

Maybe in 10 years people will look back at BvS as excess in 10's era.
But for now it should be acknowledged for what it is, a bad movie that had some fun moments.

first off, the Rock is one of the most charmingly hilarious mainstream actors around right now, right alongside guys like Channing Tatum.

Also, the Rock, and everyone else in that cast is in that movie for a very deliberate purpose. Kelly was partly making a commentary on pop celebrity culture, using the bottom of the barrel actors that he did who are identified for one cultural icon (eg. Gellar as Buffy, etc) were used on purpose. That being said, The Rock is fucking amazing in Southland.

>>
>>67376204

yeah, for me the visuals are a pretty major aspect of the movie. I mean I'm sure they are for you too but I kinda privilege visuals over most over aspects of a movie. So yeah, I would never call Sucker Punch a good movie but as visual experimentation I'm far more happy to watch it than basically 95% of the rest of Hollywood trash.

So yeah, even though I hate superhero movies I'll be giving this one a shot. At the very least it'll be funny seeing normies expecting a typical superhero movie getting raged.

Van Damme is also 13 years younger than Arnie
>>
>>67376150
Damme can't act but looks better, Schwarzenegger can act and looks worse. Huh.

Buddy cop movie?
>>
>>67376242
fucking how. these movies were genuinely good. I might go read what the negative reviews were just so I can be in shock.
>>
>>67373845
Seven Pounds fucking sucked, it actually should be lower than 27%
>>
>>67376297
That too. Lundren is also about 10 years younger.

>>67376309
Van Damme actually can act--he's just never in any movies where he has to. He does a really good job in JCVD, especially in that bizarre yet touching monologue above the set. Buddy cop stuff is exactly what they need to do. There was that prison break movie with Schwarzenegger and Stallone that was pretty decent.

>Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a non-movie. It is a remake that tries to be a sequel simply by changing locales. Well, it succeeds in many things, like being a completely humorless affair in which all the jokes are telegraphed from 2 miles away, the cute Macauly from the original is now a creepy-looking weiner, and Tim Curry embarresses himself really just a whole lot.

>Everything about this movie seems artificial and forced. I guess that's what happens when you make an entertaining (but dumb) little family comedy, and it becomes a huge smash hit. So what's a Hollywood hack (in this case, it's John Hughes and Chris Columbus) to do? Snatch the same weak TV actors as parents (Catherine O'Hara, John Heard), throw it into, say a hotel instead of a house (pure genius - Orson Welles would be proud), and tack on the same fall-down gags and forced sappy scene with some creepy old person. Ick.

>The main draw of these movies seems to be the cartoonish way that the robbers (thespians Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) always get clobbered. Guess what? Two grown men getting hit in the balls fifteen times isn't funny. Unless you're five. Or perhaps mentally slow. This sequel took the worst parts of an already weak original and amplified them 10 times. It's an annoying piece of money-grubbing crap. And this from the guy who made Ferris Bueller's Day Off! I weep.

>Home Alone 2 is the opposite of aspirin. An empty, sad, loud, obnoxious, vapid shell of a manufactured Hollywood product. I'd rather get beat up by a 12-year old than see it again.

This shit should be punishable by death.

Van Damme is 55
Dolph is 58
Ahnuld is 68

To put it in perspective, back when Schwarzenegger earned his first million dorrah (which was before being a movie star, BTW), Van Damme was a kid who probably just recently had his first erection.
>>
>>67375474
Escape from LA is really bizarre in that it's basically JC remaking Escape From New York AND turning it into a parody. Still a fun ass movie though.
