The 100 duh
>>
what makes fallout great is your choices, the ramifications, your build, how you carry yourself, how you may roleplay your character

that is why I like /v/ and /mu/ crossboarders, they just ooze ignorance. "yeah my post is saying nothing, so what?"
but you forgot this. you just want "The Road" with super mutants and 50's b-sides playing.
>>
>>67308963
>Not wanting the "Graham:Prodigal Son" movie
>Or "God Damn Dam God: A fantastic tale"
>Or even "Who won the lottery?"
>>
>>67308963
Well it couldn't be worse than Wow movie or capeshit.

If they really tried they could do something great.
Maybe as a tv series.

It couldn't hurt the franchise much more than it is anyway.
>>
>>67309045
you can play it already
>>
>>67309084
I reckon if the WoW movie succeeds they'll consider adapting this series too. Probably in a year or two when Fallout 5 is on the cards we'll hear about it.

Personally I'd fucking love it but I'm a huge Fallout faggot, so.
>>
>>67308650
Todd has said he has turned down multiple offers to make Fallout movies. He probably knows how most video game movies are shit and doesn't want it happening to Fallout.

A Boy and His Dog is all you need famch

But we already have one OP

Fuck i hate /v/
>>
>>67308963
Might be good as a dark comedy.
>>
Fucking hell no.

What makes the Fallout games good is the exploration and the whole RPG elements to them. Vidtashit wouldn't work since there are already movies with similar concepts that have been made, (i.e. WoW and LoTR for early part with the orcs anyways). It'll probably just end up being a fucking CGI mess, especially with super mutants and other mutated creatures.

To be fair, 3 or 4 had none of those and that would be where the money from a movie adaptation is.

There's really no point in a Fallout movie when almost every post-apocalyptic movie could already be a Fallout movie.
>>

This.
>>
>>67308963
What makes Fallout great is that it's a D&D campaign with a Mad Max ripoff setting.

The roleplaying stuff is a meme that came in after New Vegas when people wanted a new excuse to hate 3.

>>67310343
Six String Samurai is fucking bad holy hell what a disappointment. Knowing that Harlan Ellison hates the Boy and His Dog movie makes me like it a lot though.

How does it differ from Ellison's story and what exactly does he hate about it?
{Just saw it recently btw}

It was fiiiine, in a Hercules: The Legendary Journeys kind of way. The kid was annoying though.

Pic related was a worse not-Fallout movie.

Ellison hates the very last line in the movie, because he thinks it totally changes the tone and is meanspirited and generally awful.

After the boy kills the girl to feed the dog and the dog makes the pun as they walk away. He really disliked the pun.

>>67310452
That kid made the movie irredeemably shit. 20% of the audio in the movie is him making stupid, grunting whine.

Anybody ITT seen Burst City?

none because I've never played FO1.

>implying RPG's aren't just stat sheets and loot tables that occasionally let you make decisions with ramifications.
>>
>>67311472
Fallout was never that good at being stat-sheet based autism either. Taking anything other than 10 Agility is a crippled challenge run.

Holy shit, I knew he was doing it but he actually finished? Absolute madman!

Its not that you made a thread about video games, its that you made one about something as plebby as Fallout. Dude 50s music I was born in the wrong generation too totally man I listen to this all the time now but only songs from the soundtrack nothing more but I love this music for real though lmao
>>
>>67311527
Yeah a couple months ago.
>>
Would work better as a tv show desu, 13 episodes a year, one game per season, new vegas should be 2 seasons, tho.

Is your reading comprehension crippled? I never said role playing isn't part of an RPG. What I DID say or rather implied, was that RPG video games rarely let you actually play a role. More often than not you're just grinding quests filling out stats and filling your inventory with loot.
>>
>>67311620
Maybe your shitty console "RPGs" like the fucking Division or Witcher. You said you've never played FO1 despite it being one of the best roleplaying experiences to be had in an RPG outside of tabletop games.
>>
>>67311694
Not him, are you implying that Fallout, 'one of the best roleplaying experiences to be had in an rpg outside of tabletop games,' was really that much more than quests and looting?

My thinking for pretty much my whole first playthrough was "acquire lootz, complete checklist."
>>
>>67308650
aren't you tired of dystopian wastelands yet?
>mad max
>tons of zombie flicks
>>
>>67311721
Any RPG can be completed like that. Fallout is one of the few series of games where you can create and roleplay a character and the game fully allows you to be that character within the confines of the story. Most quest have branching endings and there's a bunch of skill checks and dialogue responses for whatever character you're playing.
>>
>>67311694
wew lad, that assumption
remember, when you assume things you make an ass out of u and me.

And yes, I've played the first 2 Witchers and am currently going through The Division. But as far as RPG games that let you make big decisions, the Mass Effect series comes to mind. Same with Dragon's Dogma. But if you'd like to go further back there's also Baldur's Gate, NWN, Morrowind and Oblivion. And out of all those game series Mass Effect 2 & 3(let's not discuss the ending, it's been talked to death) were the only ones that weren't stat sheet loot fests.

>>67311721
watched a let's play, that was my sentiment too.
>>
>>67311840
None of those games have decisions like in Fallout. Especially not Elder Scrolls games, which are pretty much just action adventure sandboxes. Decisions like Junktown, deciding between Gizmo and Killian Darkwater. Dragon Age Origins is a more modern game that's similar to what I'm talking about.
>>
>>67311780
Nope. Never will. I keep hoping it will happen irl.
>>
>>67312025
Deciding between Wrex and no Wrex
Do I save the council or focus on Sovereign
Udina or Anderson?
Deciding between genocide for quarians or geth
All the branching quest endings in The Witcher games
All the different plots you get in Dragon's Dogma based on the order of quests you complete
Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights being 1:1 D&D 3.5 ruleset with custom and player made campaigns.
And Elder Scrolls should be your favorite series since you want to 'role play' so bad. You've got a nearly limitless supply of player interactions you can do almost however you want.

I'm starting to think you don't know what you're talking about and only go on /v/ for your vidya recommendations. Or you're a blind 2D Fallout purist.
>>
It has no plot.
