That's pretty much it. The rest of them suck. Maybe you could add The Spy Who Loved Me, but that one is kind of meh.
I've seen every Bond movie. If you don't like stunts extravaganzas and can't put up with formulaic movies, you're probably not going to enjoy any of them.
>>67288019

consistently the most underrated and underappreciated Bond.
>>67288122
Agreed. They hit the sweet spot between campiness and seriousness. They didn't take themselves too seriously, but they weren't meme machines either.
>>67288102
Dalton nails the role, never understood this criticism about him being "uncomfortable." And while the film downplays the womanizing, the action is top-notch.
The only real flaw would be the villains, who are kinda silly and their plan isn't very interesting. Still the best 007 film IMO

>>67288757
Bond films have never been known for crack-whip pacing, but TMWTGG makes most other films in the series look like The Narrow Margin. Hamilton is at his absolute worst, like he was asleep in the director's chair.
Chris Lee is underutilized, Roger Moore tries to be a "tough Bond" which is laughable, and dare I mention Sheriff Pepper? The entire movie is bizarre, stupid and boring.
>mfw people say Quantum of Solace is a good movie
With most Bond films, even the ones I don't enjoy, I can at least understand what others see in them and get their reasons for liking them.
Quantum lacks everything that I like about James Bond though. The plot is generally dull and uninteresting, I was never connected to either the Vesper revenge or the investigation of Quantum. The entire thing lacks any of the characteristic 007 style or humor, and every action sequence look like they were shot by an epileptic with Parkinson's and edited in a blender.
The only thing I really enjoyed was seeing Bond briefly use his trusty old Universal Exports cover, which has been more or less forgotten at this point in the series, and Fields was a qtp2t.Olga K worst girl.

Didn't they say the reason Bond went so serious was because of Austin Powers? People began thinking Bond was way too campy and silly for its own good. Instead of being fun, exciting agent adventures it became super serious gritty dramas about how Bond is coping with age and alcohol and... his brother orchestrating everything because their father was mean or something
Jesus christ.

It went serious because of the gritty film trend propelled by Nolan's Batman movies, like every other franchise which had a recent reboot.
>>67294304

Not at all.
You just can't take a 40 year old franchise with an established main character and established tropes, throw it all out the window, and then slap the old name on it when it bares no resemblance to the real thing.
>>67287629
OHMSS is the pinnacle of bond movies. It embodies so much about bond. it's actually closer to the real bond.

>producers are said to be desperate to have him star in two more films.Jan 5, 2016
No wonder, the last two films made about $2billion between them.
>>67287101
Anon are you drunk?
>>67294981
bond copyright holders gotta make cash
gotta keep the family bizness going ma niggazzzz, CHOO CHOO
>>67294964
>every Bond movie with the introduction of the new Bond is great
Live and Let Die fucking sucked
>>67294881
Its the only thing resembling a plot that the movie had though. All the new bond movies, except for casino royal just come off as being these sloppy confusing messes where shit happens.
>>67295042
They should just do a new bond, every 3 movies, just do trilogies over and over.
>>67294981
No.
>>67295036
>he didn't like Solitaire and Tee Hee Johnson
well it's not best Moore Bond but it's great still
>>67295005
>>67294959
That's not a reboot though. We all know who bond is: super spy, likes to drink, fucks bitches, and saves the day, often by fucking bitches with a wise crack remark.
>>67294927
>nobody liked my portrayal of bond
>surely they wont like yours either, so don't even bother
Sounds more like a cunt.
>>67295091
it's far from great. It took Moore until his 3rd film to finally hit his stride
>>67295075
>just do trilogies over and over.
No! Why do you people insist on these continuities in movies that don't need them. Not everything needs to be an extended cinematic universe.
>>67295098
I definitely don't want that gone but you can't deny GoldenEye and Casino Royale are kinda different in terms of overall tone.
>>67295144
>continuities in movies that don't need them.
OMG
They REALLY need to stop that shit with Bond. It has no REASON anywhere in the world in having interconnected stories as the Craig Bond films did.
Recurring characters sure, like always but not plots.
>>67295140
Moore was great in all his films, he just hammed it up a bit when the script called for it.
>>67295144
Bond's books were a continuity, hunting down Blofeld and what not
>>67295140
i disagree
>>67295185
both Casino Royale and The Living Daylights show the same characters starting over (as in younger and unexperienced). hence "reboots"
>>67295075
I honestly would be ok with this as long as each movie is a standalone story that just happens after the last one and isn't connected.
>>67295238
>The Living Daylights
The most divisive bond movie ever made?
>>67295453
that's Dalton all together. In between campy Moore and cheesy Brosnan
>>67295522
>cheezy Brosnan
>>67295522
Brosnan IS Moore
and Dalton will always be Lazenby. makes me sad they're both so underrated
>>67283245
>>67295912
GoldenEye was a movie made for Dalton that was altered to fit Brosnan. TND is the first film to fully encapsulate the Brosnan era.
bump pls
>>67294252
I know Lazenby didn't wanna do another Bond movie, but why did Dalton only do two?
Has anyone here seen every single bond movie?
>>67297641
Back when Casino Royal was just coming out on DVD I bought a boxset with every single Bond movie. Over the next month or so a couple of my buddies and I would get drunk and watch tons of Bond. As such I have seen them all, but they all kind of blur into one singular mess, and I couldn't tell you which movie was which.
I only just this last week got caught up with the Craig Bonds.
>>67297783
I kind of did the same whenHuluput up every one besides the Craig and Brosnan ones for a few months. I pirated the others.
I'm the same, I can only remember parts but I don't know which is which.
>>67297320
legal problems in the early 90s. Decided to move on from Dalton to start Brosnan because Dalton was getting older and the public was disappointed that Brosnan missed his shot in the 80's due to Remington Steele getting renewed for one last season.
They felt it would be more appropriate to introduce a new bond after the 6 year hiatus than keep Dalton.
>>67297320
>Since Dalton was contracted for three Bond films, the pre-production of his third film began in 1990, in order to be released in 1991. What was confirmed is that the story would deal with the destruction of a chemical weapons laboratory in Scotland, and the events would take place in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. The film was cancelled due to legal issues between UA/MGM and Eon Productions, which lasted for four years.
>The legal battle ended in 1993, and Dalton was expected to return as James Bond in the next Bond film, which later became GoldenEye. Despite his contract having expired, negotiations with him to renew it took place. Dalton surprised everyone on 12 April 1994 with the announcement that he would not return as James Bond. At this time, he was shooting the mini-series Scarlett. The announcement for the new Bond came two months later, with Pierce Brosnan playing the role. Dalton reflected in 2007, "I was supposed to make one more but it was cancelled because MGM and the film's producers got into a lawsuit which lasted for five years. After that, I didn't want to do it any more

Goldeneye was the first one I saw in the theater, along with all the other Brosnan movies.
