who doesn't give a fuck about being a "pleb"?
my favorite movie is pulp fiction. so what? its my own opinion. i've even watched tokyo story, stalker, fanny and alexadner, all these obscure "patrician" films, just to see what they were about; boring, long, pointless shots, slow story, unexciting dialogue, as if they were purposely trying to get half its viewers to leave so the remaining half can circlejerk about how "patrician" the movie was and how the other guys don't "get it".
also i don't even understand watching movies in another language (are you READING the movie or WATCHING it?).
think about it, millions of people love pulp fiction because lots of people regard it as EXCITING and FUN. shouldn't popular movies be seen as BETTER, not the other way around?
pic related - liking so-called "patrician" movies is literally fedora tipping

I like to watch "patrician" films simply because they tend to have a little more depth to their themes and characters, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love action movies and thrillers the most.
pulp fiction is patrician you faggot.
>shouldn't popular movies be seen as BETTER
do you think miley cyrus is a better musician than whoever the fuck you listen to simply because she's more popular, exciting, and fun?
Fight Club here.
Don't give a single fuck what faggots on /tv/ that talk about le Blue is le Warmest Color say
I enjoy all types of movies, from dumb action movies with Steven Seagal to movies from Bella Tar.
Pulp fiction meant nothing to me though, very forgettable.

imdb core is not welcome here , shoo underage shoo
>>67256330
>tokyo story, stalker, fanny and alexadner,
Those films are like capeshit to me, and what YOU watch is the lowest of the low, the dogshit on my shoe, the very worst of video game hotpocket pornography.

>pulp fiction
>patrician
How's freshman year going?
Le Samourai isn't patrician
It's literally babby's first nouvelle vague film along with Breathless and 400 Blows

>tokyo story, stalker, fanny and alexadner, all these obscure "patrician" films
THE LIST GOES ON!!!

Miley Cyrus is a fake ass, cock hungry bitch, praying on little children and people who listen to music just because it would be awkward drinking in a club with music that doesnt make your internal organs bleed. Whereas Tarantino is a weird guy, Ill give you that, but he generally wants to make a good product, and with Pulp Fiction he hit a home run and is still discussed about. Miley will be forgotten in a matter of years because she cant make good music.
TL;dr You cant compare apples and oranges you weeb
>>67256445
miley cyrus is popular because
1. lots of kids like her because she was on disney
2. she's kind of hot
i would say the movie equivalent would be the avengers, popular because of marketing, nostalgia, things unrelated to actual content.

that's cute. did you change your opinion of citizen kane because when you realized it was a little too well regarded for you to publicly enjoy?
>>67256330
>Tokyo Story
>obscure
dude, did coming on here and admitting that you are stupid really feel like a good idea?
>>67256816
You can presume as much as you want about what movies I like, but you're going to be pretty hard pressed to bring Tarantino into patrician tier.
This thread is really some retarded shit
>millions of people love pulp fiction because lots of people regard it as EXCITING and FUN. shouldn't popular movies be seen as BETTER, not the other way around?
No, argumentum ad populum is a fallacy. Many more people consider The Avengers their favorite movie and haven't seen Pulp Fiction
>>67256816
Nowhere near on the same level. Citizen Kane is regarded as one of the best movies ever made because of technical mastery and techniques that were highly advanced for it's time and it contributed to filmmaking in general.
All pulp fiction did was inspire terrible knock offs

Nothing to see here people, move along.

Reddit movie
I literally- literally- can't identify this thread as bait, satire or a real retard anymore. We're in too deep, lads
Well, being able to name a "favourite", or bleat out an ordered top x ranking in a medium so fucking diverse and expansive actually is a true sign of a pleb.

>judging the merits of a single film by factoring in the rest of the director's cannon
legitimately embarrassing yourself with your pleb-tier handle on cinema. you reek a pseudo intellectual stench you "cultured" fuck

wasn't even comparing the two. learn to read first and then you can partake in discussion. until then, suicide repeatedly.
OP is an idiot. I recommend reading a book about the art of film making or film theory. It's guaranteed to make these patrician films a lot more enjoyable once you educate yourself a bit.

Sounds like someone's getting a little upset.
Seriously though, Tarantino and especially Pulp Fiction are pretty much highschool-core. I like his movies, but if you think there's anything patrician about his monologues and never-ending popculture circlejerking, you are probably an angry pleb.

Funny, because half of the film theory books out there at least mention Pulp Fiction, or even go as far as having whole chapters explaining why it's a revolutionary, influential work

I think you're asking me a silly question. The point is that the films you listed aren't obscure at all. They're on the imdb top 250 man. Sure, Stalker requires more concentration and patience than a lot of movies, but it's not too impenetrable otherwise it wouldn't be so well known.
The real problem is you're denying yourself the pleasure of seeing hundreds of great movies because you limit yourself to a very small caveat of movies in your comfort zone.
can you put the list in western characters please? It looks interesting...
>>67257910
>2 Radev flicks
lol

you're really, really new OP. and underage. and a raging pleb. back to /v/eddit.
who am i kidding? it's far too late. /tv/ is /reddit/capeshit/fedora/ now.

Citizen Kane is visually genius. Pulp Fiction is a bunch of quirky criminals doing and saying zany things. You're an idiot if you think they're comparable. You know nothing about film.
