anyway to watch a blueray movie widescreen ?
The black bars are killing me
MPC HC > Video frame > stretch to window
inb4 muh aspect ratio
You have a square television/monitor?
How do you plan on doing it? Squishing/stretching the image to change aspect ratio so there's no bars? Cutting out half the image to fit the shape of the screen?

what?

>The black bars are killing me
What the fuck how?
Can't you focus on the god damn movie?
>>67199976
Crop every scene to 16:9 and stitch the clips together
>>67200052
>MPC HC
this is for a HDTV and a blueray player
>>67200356
Your tv will definitely have an aspect ratio setting under video settings. You'll probably want to set that to 16:9 to get the result you want
>>67200393
i set it to that still has black bars on the top and bottom
the back of the box says 16x9
>>67200424
Change the setting until it looks the way you want, one of the Aspect Ratio types will do it, it's just that all the brands use their own terminology. Might be called Full
>>67200451
i can do that but I can only make the bars smaller not completely go away
>>67200451
If none of the tv settings work, try doing the same thing on bluray player settings.
>>67200465
That sucks. Are you watching something with a super-wide ratio like Hateful Eight? Might not be anything you can do to remove the bars completely
>>67200466
yeah tried the setting on it same thing
>>67200493
im trying to watch john wick
>>67200503
Sorry I couldn't be more help bro, good luck, hope you figure it out.
>>67200503
everything you watch John Wick on will have black bars unless you zoom in on it and it will looked fucked up by then
>>67199976
No, not without fucking up the aspect ratio. Why do you think tv shows go nicely to full screen but movies doesn't? Because movies are shot that way.
>>67199976
You're a fucking retard dude.
>watching films that aren't in 4:3
pleb af
its meant to have black bars
getting rid of them will fuck with the image, stretch or zoom it
can't believe this got so many replies trying to help
>>67202270
4:3 is a shit ratio into the trash it goes
It only ever existed because of technical limitations, and people only like it to sound patrician
>>67202328
>muh aspect ratio
literally unnoticeable unless your an autismo looking for things to complain about
>>67202351
It's the patrician's choice
16:9 and other widescreen shit was *literally* just a plebeian cashgrab
>>67202435
lol why would you watch it like this? Are you an old man who doesn't care anymore?
>>67202528
this
>>67202435
This. That's why I watch ALL my movies with CamRips. Literally unnoticeable compared to 1080p Bluray rips unless you're an nitpicking neckbearded autist.
>>67202435
Dude, Coneheads is my favourite film.
