yeah, the show really is a nerd wish fulfillment fantasy. while i get it's a comedy, the dude has zero charisma and no damn way any hot girls will throw themselves at him the way they do in this show. there's a few laughs here and there but i wouldn't care any if there's no second season. probably will b/c it's dirt cheap to produce.
speaking of Netflix shows, i prefer Flaked from the recent batch of comedies. maybe because i can relate to Arnett's character more. they should have spruced up the comedy, though, but it has a slightly more grounded approach to entitled hipster wish fulfillment.

I enjoyed it. I agree though, should have turned up the comedy and distilled the drama a bit. Quite a few really awkward scenes that felt genuine though. My biggest criticism is the ending,she should have left to get her self right and leave it ending on a cliffhanger
