ANH or ESB ?

They're both great for different reasons
ANH is a whimsical space adventure with great characters but the adventure takes priority
ESB is more character driven and introspective, but less fun than ANH.

ANH is a pure, simple action/adventure movie.
ESB takes some of the concepts introduced in ANH and completely blows them out of proportion, but uses great writing and a coherent narrative to keep everything focused. Essentially, ESB is the perfect sequel.
