Do you guys go and shake the projectionist's hand for a good job after the showing?

Asking because I notice more and more people immediately leave after the movie has finished.
>>
>>67121020
Yes and I also tip him.
>>
im on my 39th viewing of the force awakens. shook their hand each time.
>>
>>67121020
What the fuck does a projectionist do anyway? The only time i see the guy is when he's off to lunch.
>>
>>67122241
I was one.
Pretty much nothing. A lot of reading

Usually I shake his hand after the pre-movie shower and after the film is over

Then I tip him and give any crab legs I had left over from the movie

You're supposed to leave leftover food in the aviary. You know, for the rental birds.
>>
>>67122241
Literally nothing these days. Back when everything was on analog film, they needed some skill.

Sounds like a perfect job for a /tv/ autist.

Sort of off topic, but my sugar mommy wants to build a home theater in her house. We mostly read stuff about modern digital projectors that we can hook up Blurays too and everything, but we thought it would be nice to also get a nice analog projector and hunt down some good prints of films we like. However, home analog projectors aren't exactly a big market in 2016 so there aren't a lot of resources about this available. Does anybody know anything about this? Should we just ask around and see if we can find someone who has an old projector? We know how to get some prints.

Just go to the cinema garage sale and see if they're selling any old projectors. I got my falcon perch this way

LOL what's it like getting the Betamax of perches?

>>67123476
Oh wait you were bullshitting.
>>

Eagles are shit tier cinema-companions. They're loud, don't appreciate a good film and can't sit still for a minute. Not to mention they will just randomly start hunting prey if they get bored.

A well-trained falcon is trustworthy and loyal.

why would I shake his hand when all he does is press a play button?

>tfw no live editing in the projection booth anymore
>>
>>67125981
That's like saying "all a waiter does is bring you food". They're still doing you a service and you're expected to appreciate and tip them.
>>
>>67121996
>shook their hand each time.
who? the audience?
>>
>>67122683

It Is :^) Everything is digital, you just program in showtimes and build playlists with trailers and shit. Pretty sure I got put in there because of my propensity to upset customers. Joke's on them, I fucking love it up here!!

This reminds me of when I forgot to bring my own copy of the movie to the theatre and didn't get a discount. Luckily I barely had enough money with me to afford the full price plus tip
