I didn't mind the mark of Cain when they first made it, because I though that was the last season. He kills the demon bitch and then kills metatron and then he dies and his little brother lives a normal life. That was what was meant to be the ending of season 5. Dean living a normal life with Lisa and Ben while Sam is dead.
