What's your favourite horror movie cliche?
Mine is the medicine cabinet mirror scare
The trip while running from the monster
>>66973217
>hears something
>looks back / about
>nothing
>just gonna check once more for no reason
>IN YOUR FACE
i hate it but i love it
>>66973217
Hot girls and sex.
I like the one where they're going up to the cabinet mirror scene, and then it closes and there's nothing there.I can't believe people still think this is clever and unexpected. I'm starting to think that there will never be a monster in the mirror because of how LOL SELF AWARE SO META directors are nowadays.

That mirror scene in Poltergeist scared the shit out of me when I was younger.
Jump scares.
>>66973341
Shaun of the Dead did it kinda.
>>66973217
I love mirror/shower curtain scares.
second is hands reaching out from random places (Friday 13th, Carrie, Day of the Dead, Repulsion, Nightmare on Elm Street)
>>66973341
The next step is for the character to close the cabinet, but turn around and swing a hook really fast at whatever might be there behind them. Big plus if they knock their friend out ans their unconcious body is later violated by a horny ghost.
Brutal, Contrived deaths
On the other end, I fucking hate false jump scares

I love the hands reaching out of random places bit.
>>66973390
>hands reaching out from random places
>Repulsion
Man, that fucking scene.
>character walking in profile, camera following
>something out of focus can be seen through a window or between some trees in the background for just a second
>character stops and does a couple steps back
>its gone
i really like when it turns out the main character is just nuts
i just want to see horror films about people who are nuts having delusions
>>66973217
Omg im hiding in these easily found location. Usually with line of sight on the monster/murderer/demonic entity
Somehow i think the cant see me even though i can see thenm plain as day.
Oh good their walking away
Nope they were just fucking with me
I dont know why i like it but i do

Silent House was sick af in that regard.
>>66973669
Oculus wasnt half bad
>>66973241
then added with "I twisted my ankle, go on without me, go! GO!!!!!"
>>66973669
Can you name a couple? I like those twists sometimes but have a hard time finding reccomendations
>still shot of a dimly lit spooky room
>nothing there
>monster that was actually there the entire time just looking at you quickly scuttles off into the dark
What's that movie where the guy's in bed with his wife, only it's not his wife and as he slowly reaches to touch "her" the camera shows you the monster's face?
Probably getting some details wrong, but I know I've got the gist of it right.
>>66973669
great trope that barely ever works, but is still lots of fun.The Othersdid it best.

this?

>>66974008
Does that one even count? I mean pretty sure it was a twist but she wasnt crazy just wrong about the details
>>66973991
The Cuckold
>>66974062well she's technically crazy because she thinks she's still alive and that the people who are alive are haunting her when it's vice versa.
>>66974076
>>66973991
it happens in lost highway and freaks me out more than any other movie i've seen even when i know it's coming
>>66974059
Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of.
