Self defense claims requires imminent risk of grievous bodily harm or death. I didn't have a mark on me and their was no weapon involved. There were no cops on scene as well who may have understood the true nature of the situation and reported on it. He asked to file charges from the hospital and made me out to be the aggressor. It came down to my word against his and brief testimony from the other roommates, but still, he was seriously hurt and i was not. Its really that black and white.
