What a shitty fucking remake.
>no gritty feeling
>everything looks clean and sanitised
>sepia filter everywhere
>they took out most of the gore
>most of the gunshots when the family are killed are off camera
>the metal masked woman was removed completely and replaced with an annoying little girl
>the main girl just comes across as annoying instead of severely damaged
>the two main girls are plain as fuck, muh Mylene Jampanoï
>Mademoiselle's character is a cardboard cut out and acts like a marvel villain
>both girls survive until the end
>the whole idea behind the torture is badly explained
>main girl doesn't get completely flayed alive but rather has a small portion of skin on her back removed (doesn't even show it)
>Madoimaselle is shot by the main girl's friend (after suddenly becoming a badass) instead of committing suicide
>the ending isn't as ambiguous as the original
>the girls last words after seeing the other side are literally shown in the subtitles
>the trippy scene where it zooms into her eye was taken out, I loved that scene
Good things:
>The score was good
>there are maybe two or three beautiful shots in the film but they are taken from the original
3/10, it's like Disney remade Martyrs
