I love the series, but you're absolutely right.
My favourite Bond films are the Connery era. Dr. No especially. At least he was suave. Craig is the very embodiment of the modern action hero, a hero that is invincible, robotic and a gary stu. I wish they'd scale down the films. Skyfall worked well because they weren't trying to save the world.

Craig's bond, while trying to dress it up as realistic, aren't anymore realistic then Connery and Moores over the top and rather comedic Bond. The plots aren't realistic, the villains aren't realistic. The only thing theyve done to make it seem realistic is take away the gadgets and make bond an unfunny, uncharismatic hipster.
On top of the embarrassingly cringey scripts, these films are some of the worst Bond films ever made. But I admit these guys know their target audiences. People like you for example.
