>>66880858Romana decides to leave her husband after what seems like a petty argument. As she is leaving, her furniture seems to be shaking a bit. She's driving away, gets distracted by her phone, and is run off the road by John Goodman. He then brings her to his shelter and locks her up. He seems kind of serial killery at first, so she tries to escape, but then realizes that he's telling the truth about outside. She then realizes he isn't so bad, but just a bit weird. She's also there with Emmit, a redneck dude who never did anything with his life. The two bond. She is then tasked to turn a air generator back on when it goes off. She turns it on in a separate room from the main bunker that can only be accessed by vent. (Why? I dunno...) There she find a bloody earing, which matches an earing that John Goodman showed her in a picture of his supposed 'Daughter' Apparently, according to Emmit, the girl in the picture is someone who went missing two years back. The two decide to make escape plans, and they start working on a haz-mat suit out of a shower liner. Goodman gets wind of their plan, kills Emmit, and tries to force Ramona to be hid daughter. She escapes, burns him with acid, and emerges onto the surface. There she fights with an alien dog, and is almost abducted by a UFO. She blows it up with a molotov and decides to help fight the aliums in Houston.

I really enjoyed it. It's a very solid picture. Doesn't do anything TOO amazing, yet there's nothing really stupid about the film. Except one detail which I mention here:
