There were some jokes, some good, some bad, but it was a decent background noise.
Now the writing is insanely lazy, every actor looks bored, they just stand still delivering their lines and nothing else, the episode of Sheldon's birthday was depressing, there aren't even jokes anymore, everything revolves around weird behaviour and namecalling (they did it also in the first seasons, but it wasn't so blatant). Not to mention that now the entire point of the show it's their relationship lives and the whole show became the lives of a bunch of alright gurls and their childish and immature men.
