It started out interesting but it got old pretty quick. Shaw is annoying as fuck too, can't stand her edginess.
The individual episodes are good, but I find the season's story arches started to become a bit convoluted in season 3 and 4.

like that one episode about the woman who was taking the 911 calls. a professional hitman is after her, Finch leads her into a dark cellar, the hitman follows them, Finch turns on the light and the hitman is standing in a puddle of water while Finch is holding an electrical wire. He tells the hitman to drop the gun, hitman drops the gun in the water, then Finch tells the woman, who is the target of this professional hitman, to pick up the gun, at which point she literally walks into the puddle of water, right in front of the professional hitman who is sent to kill her, and he just stands there. if he had just grabbed her Finch could do nothing
add to that the billion times the bad guy has their gun trained on someone only for Reese/someone else to stop them at the very last second. I like the main story but it just has too much stupidity

Basically it became too complicated for the CBS audience. Its facebook page is filled with complaints from old people saying the show should get back to the numbers and they stopped watching because they stopped their case of the week shit.
And they were about half the audience. And that premise is how they tricked the network into putting it on the air and they got pretty mad too when they figured out that's not what the show wants to be. It kills any hopes of syndication for one thing.
