there's a thousand named characters who died in asoiaf. and yeah while most of them aren't important, that's still a lot. usually when stories kill unimportant characters they aren't even named, and aren't given a backstory. it's just "that captain's bodyguard died when the captain was murdered", that's it.
and the fact that only 4-5 PoV died doesn,t mean much... Of course he's not gonna kill his PoV all the time, these are the most developped characters with not only personality and actions and all, but their thoughts and all that.
There's still a hell of a lot more people (overall, or just by importance) who die in asoiaf than anything else I've read/watched.
