What are some really good recent horror flicks that are bound to make you shudder?
>>
>>66801373
>Good
>Recent
>Horror

I'm drawing a blank here
>>
Watched Curse of Chucky the other day, it was decent.
>>
>>66801495
I know anon but I really wish hollywood did more horror recently.
>>
>>66801634

>Curse of Chucky
>it was decent

yikes
>>
>>66801634
Nah I want a serious horror like how Cloverfield was.
>>
Berberian Sound Studio
>>
>>66801373

Check out the television show on HBO, called Girls
>>
>>66801373
Bump. I saw The Witch today and liked it, but it's really not comparable to something like Evil Dead.
>>
>>66801660
It's pretty good if you're already a fan of the series, which should really go without saying.
>>
>>66801373
The Babadook, It Follows (maybe), the newly released Birds remake (best horror film I've seen in years)
>>
>>66801889
>the newly released Birds remake

Hadn't even heard of this. I'll check it out. Thanks, anon.
>>
>>66801953
It doesn't exist.
>>
>>66801373
>bound to make you shudder?

Are you from Buzzfeed or Cracked?
>>
>>66801987
Oh.
>>
The Witch was the best movie I've seen this year and genuinely scary
>>
>>66801373
The most recent good horror movie is Don't Look Now from the 1970s
>>
>>66801373
Pic unrelated? It just didn't even come close to the original.

Anyway, It Follows was decent.
>>
>>66802784
The best thing about it were the traditional effects. Everything else was mediocre, but mediocre says a lot when it comes to horror movies these days.

Plus the ridiculous ending was pretty awesome.
>>
anyone reccomend any good films for when you're stoned?
>>
>>66802876
>The best thing about it were the traditional effects.

I'll give you that. It had pretty cool effects and makeup.

Jacob's Ladder

Prepare to be freaked the fuck out
>>
>>66803265
Happy dreams anon
>>
>>66801373

Just watch Silence of the Lambs 3 times in one night and go on IMDB and insist that it's a horror movie.
>>
>>66801953
>>66801987
>>66801994

lol
>>
>>66804719
b b but it's a thriller!
>>
>>66804547
>
>>66804647
I've watched it recently
>>
>>66801495
>>Good
>>Horror

They're all shit desu, except maybe Evil Dead but these are comedy.
>>
>>66804853

I can't respect Jews like that. Thriller is what horror movies were originally called.

This was a great horror film with Sam Neill but then again it's half comedic.
>>
>>66804914
the first Evil Dead isn't comedy
>>66804989
not bad but leaves a lot to be desired
>>
>>66804989
>half comedic

Was it? It's been a while since I've seen it but I remember it being fairly effective. Probably one of the best Lovecraft-inspired thrillers we're ever going to get.

Pic related was probably the last good one I've seen. I don't care for found footage movies but the tension and pacing were top fucking notch.

Yeah the ending where he watched himself act and scream was heaps hilarious.

As well as the scene where he wakes up on a random bus full of old people and starts screaming.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9d3a3EqAx4Q

It had some really freaky moments tho like that night shot when he sees that figure on the bike.

Not new 2014 The Scribbler ... kept my short attention span .

For found footage, I really enjoyed the Visit. I Was expecting some more of a twist at end but was still really good.
>>
>>66805334
Wait, that wasn't found footage was it? Also I'm not sure I can sit through another Shylamaman movie.
>>
See the thing is, there isnt really "horror" anymore, just jump scares and shock value. Or maybe we're all too desensitized? The only relatively recent movie that had a good atmosphere was maybe first Sinister. Hellraiser still fucks with me
>>
>>66805375
No man believe me it is worth it and yes it is found footage

Has a Signs vibe.
>>
>>66805375
Basically their mom is a dumb bitch and Shymama doesnt know how mental disorders work
>>
>>66805419
How dare you spoil it for anon!! :(
>>
>>66805419
doesnt he have autismo?
>>
>>66805419
>caught with gun in mouth
Oh I was just cleaning it
>>
>>66801373
Not that, that's for sure.

The Woman in Black from a few years ago (not the sequel) is surprisingly good. Deathgasm from last year is more horror comedy, and the 3rd act sucks, but it's great for a while.
>>
>>66805464
spoiler dat shizznizz my niggnizz
>>
>>66801889
>The Babadook
Fucking piece of shit movie senpai
>>
>>66805438
How the hell is it a spoiler if its no context?
>>
>>66805535
cause their mother being a dumb bitch is ze twist
>>
>>66805334
That movie was complete shit desu senpai. Went on a double date to go see it - literally laughed at all the dumb shit in the movie. Emphasis on literally.
>>
>>66801718

was hyped for it, despite never have seen any giallo-films (trailer looked awesome), didn't watched it all those years

now watched nearly everything from Bava and Argento - hyped again to finally watch it
are there any other great films I can watch to feed the hype ?
>>
>>66805585
We can all agree that she is perhaps one of the dumbest parents to be on film right?
>>
>>66804989
I liked Sam Neil. What happened to him? Why did he never make it big?
>>
>>66805496
that's just your shitty opinion
