So what's holding you back from becoming an actor, /tv/?

For me it's the fact I don't have a completely vertical profile, ain't no one gonna hire someone who doesn't look perfectly symmetrical on a poster.
>>
I was actually an extra in a fairly big movie as a kid

My autism stopped my career there though.
>>
>>66797322
What movie, anon?
>>
>>66797271
I have a big nose.
Also, I am not a very good actor.

Let The right one in, swedish movie that did fairly well in america
>>
>>66797355
My nose is kinda big, but my head is big too, so it's not a problem.

I have a feeling it'll take me 6 years to make it big. I'll give a shout out to everyone on here when I make it.
>>
>>66797355
>big nose

Fuck I know that feeling, pretty much every dude in Hollywood has a perfect nose and it kills me.

>>66797395
Interesting, I actually think I saw my dad watching this once.
>>
>>66797395
No shit man? I love that movie.
>>
>>66797355
Just get surgery, High Jackman did it and that dude had a huge nose.
>>
I've always been more interested in directing than acting

But I am a software engineer anyway
>>
>>66797462
Ya

What was funny is that I didnt even intend to end up there. They were recruiting extras in school but I didnt listen so I thought it was mandatory to go there and then I was to beta to back out so I just went through with it. Out of 30-50 kids applying I was also one of only 2 to get the part lol
>>
>>66797355
>I have a big nose.
If I pull it, will you die?
>>
>>66797622
would be extremely snortful
>>
>>66797597
Wow that's actually pretty awesome.
>>
>>66797271
Because I like rocks more than I like memes.
>>
I was actually a really good actor in elementary and middle school then completely stopped in high school because it was gay
Really wish I stuck with it because I think it might be my dream profession
>>
>>66797674
You have a big nose
>>
>>66797765
for...for....FOOOOOOR CHUUUUU!!
>>
>>66797737
Just start it up again. You're never too old to act. It's just playing pretend .
>>
>>66797271
I don't want to become an actor.

Not good-looking enough.

If you're not handsome you won't get casted at all in this day and age unless your career started up in the 90's or before.
>>
>>66797793
I shouldn't be laughing so hard at this retardation
>>
>>66797802
Nah, I was a flamboyant dramatic kid and I completely suppressed all that when I started playing sports and trying to be cool
I don't have the same uninhibitedness anymore
>>
>>66797271

I'm stiff as a board. I have no range at all. I'm tall.
>>
>>66797322
>>66797395

Awesome, which scene & kid?
>>
>>66797271
>tfw slightly sloped forehead with large nose
>would look fucking horrible in any side shot

It's awful because I look pretty good from the front, but as soon as it's a side shot it doesn't even look like me. Started up acting in Vancouver for a short time but I quit because of that reason, didn't think anyone would take me seriously if I wanted to go far.
>>
>>66797825
There's always a chance. I've actually heard being TOO good looking is a problem because you get typecast as a douche. No joke.

Vertical profile means the straightness of your face from the side.

Pic related, brad Pitt has a completely vertical profile, so he looks good from both the front and the side. Normally where people aren't vertical is the forehead.
>>
Literally nothing. I'm a theatre actor. I've had steady work for 3 years.
>>
>>66798379
It may help, but isn't essential. Tom Cruise and Tom Hardy both have not so vertical profiles.

Hardy in particular gives me hope.
>>
I don't care about movies enough to want to work in the industry.
I only come here for the memes.
>>
Teachers always said I was great at acting and I look pretty good.
But I want to see the clapper in front of me, not the other way.
>>
I'm Canadian.

Really no hope unless I move to the US, which I'm too much of a pussy to do even though I want to really badly.
>>
>>66797271
I'm not jewish
>>
>>66798494
Not bashing on you. But most actors don't LOVE cinema. They just think it'd be cool to be famous, so when it comes to actually acting and learning the lines, a lot of people drop out.

I have movies on my mind 24/7, so I have no doubt I'll make acting a living.
>>
>>66797271
>So what's holding you back from becoming an actor, /tv/?
At first, fear of financial instability so I went to uni and got a degree. By the time I had established a career, most of my friends who had pursued acting right from the get go were doing decently well for themselves and I learned that that ship had sailed.

I no longer have my youth, my network, or any of my old acting abilities due to lack of practice. I am already dead, and in about 40 years my body will recognize that fact and join me.

That was 8 years ago, dude. He could've been in grade 5 and be an adult today.
>>
>>66798640
>I'm Canadian.
You could always move to Vancouver (lol) or Toronto (LOL), there are a lot of film productions being shot here due to the incredibly weak dollar. Just absolutely abysmal, rock bottom dollar. Literally Mexico 2.0

You can see my back in the frozen beach scene and me in the distance outside the school. Always in crowds though.

>>66799232
It was filmed in early 2007, I was 13 and I'm 22 now.
>>
>>66797271
I fucking flunked out of acting school, YOU FUCK!
>>
>>66798942
Holy fuck you are making me want to kill myself by just reading your comment, that's how depressing it is. But it hits close to home nonetheless, I fear this might happen to me too.

apparently a good actor though.
>>

It occurred to me today that this scene may have been the last thing the victims of the premier shooting saw. What a glorious way to go out.
>>
I'm taking classes on video production right now. I'm not some mouseketeer-grade talent or anything, my moderate ability to act isn't that special. I'll end up somewhere in something, but I don't mind if I just get some random crew job.
>>

You'll end up an alcoholic working the drive-thru.
