Does that "fear, terror" talk with claire means he is goig to try to impose a dictatorship government, fascist one? I know he maybe just talking about he war but I think there's more to it.
>>
No, it means he's going to hire Yusuf al-Ahmadi as his chief of staff
>>
I think it has to do more with "we're at war" and that terrorists are in our backyard trying to kill us type of fear.

Does the show take place in a timeline where Iraq/Afganistan/War on Terror never happened?

As far as terrorist "attacks" go, kidnapping and killing a guy are pretty weak by today's standards. Sure if this was September 10, 2001 it would dominate the headlines for weeks, but if Frank's goal is to distract from the corruption scandal he's going to have to do better than this,

Not entirely. Support for a US ground invasion of Syria increased significantly when Steven Sotloff was beheaded by ISIS. Fortunately it didn't go over the 30% mark at the time because Americans were still wary after the Afghanistan and Iraq quagmires, but it did bring out the chickenhawks in many Americans.

No. 9/11 is explicitly mentioned, and Conway mentions that he joined the military a day later to fight. Afghanistan definitely happened. It's very possible that the Iraq War didn't happen, though, one of the fan theories out there for the different number of presidents* is that Gore won instead of Bush, only to be voted out of office in 2004.

*Walker is elected in 2012 as the 45th President, while in real life Obama was elected in 2008 as the 44th

I'm hoping we end up dictatorship. I hate frank but I wanna see a hateable bastard go full evil and win. So many tv shows do the whole psychopath guy downfall. Like we all believe deep down that a truly evil bastard is gonna fail.

I want some new terrorist attack to happen. Something worse than 9/11 and they give him some uber patriot act kind of power. With the country turning more militaristic. Maybe some shooting/cop situation gone bad so they start replacing police with soldiers and turn it into a military state. Everyone at first sort of for it. They put a temporary hold on keeping presidents as only two terms so frank can run again figuring the first two years didn't count. Him promising her won't run again past that. Then after claire runs and wins. By the time you have 20 years of underwoods an entire generation of voters is ok with them running for ever. They go full evil, burn some ties with the UN, have greater and greater power, keep the US in a perpetual warring state so the people are more patriotic and occupied. Plus now you're just taking over more countries, more reach and influence, more power.

And it just ends like that. With them killing anyone not in line, keeping people afraid yet respectful, and just sort of ends with a sort of "see how easy it is for democracy to fail" kind of moral.

C'mon they already dragged an election out 2 seasons.

Beau Willimon left. Sucking the show's teat dry is the only thing they have planned at this point.
>>
>>66785848

Don't bother hiding it, /tv/ already spoiled it through and through for a week

last season felt completely useless, they barely moved the plot

i liked this one

Good. He's only writing the premieres and finales at this point. Hopefully we'll see his terrible self-insert character killed off.

Why the hell didn't they make Underwood a republican? It would have been so much entertaining if he wasn't a democrat who had to pander to minorities and muh feeling soccermoms with gun control and instead could go full Trump in the show.

To cuck things to the max even the republican candidate is secretly anti-gun. Fucking Netflix.
>>
>>66788475
I think that's kind of the point though. Trying to show just how unbelievably evil Dems are when you get down to it.
>>
>>66788475
Had they made Frank a Republican, you cretins would flood this board with your tears while whining incessantly about dem libruls at Netflix portraying Republicans as power-drunk sociopaths.

I suppose you missed Dunbar's part, the Republican-leaning general being a man of honour, and Conway being a two-faced consummate politician

Nice strawman faggot. I'm not even an american. But what made the british original good was that he was a Tory and he could be a major scumbag and it still fit the character well. Underwood is a halfassed compromise of hardline republican who goes on some soft issues now and then to justify him being a democrat.
>>
>>66788720
Anon we both know that it's nearly impossible for women to be Republicans.

They're the reason this country has sunken into such a tight democratic-socialist grip.

Go and read Assemblywomen.

Even the Ancient Greeks knew this.

>parties matter in this show
Frank has no loyalty to one side of the aisle or the other. He only aligns himself with whoever can further his goals. Both parties are just background noise, two anonymous factions constantly at war with each other, nothing more than tools to be used by the powerful.

>>66785848
No, it means he's going to control the masses through fear of terrorism and ICO. That's why he allowed the father to get killed and let it be aired on national television, so people would be afraid and not question the invasion of Syria.

Frank essentially made 9/11 2.0.

Democrat is honestly the less offensive pick. You know it to be true.
