Whedon is a tacky TV director. The only thing he does is 'clever' dialogue sequences in boring shot reverse shot. His action scenes are awful, his attempts at drama are awful.

His function as a director is extremely limited. Almost all the Marvel films look like the product of an assembly line, a committee of advertisers posing as filmmakers.
I actually enjoyed AoU more than the other Marvel films. They're all crap so I don't see why this one was so much worse. It delivers on big dumb comic book moments.

IM3 is a shit cape movie. Its not a satire. At all. In fact, the mandarin thing was probably the best thing about the movie. It was entertaining enough, and saved the Mandarin for another chance on a not shit movie.
