Was the ending supposed to be bad? I couldn't tell if you were supposed to realize that the all the efforts of the main cast to "do the right thing" were for naught now that the only survivors were 2 ignorant children in a frozen post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Or was the Asian hacker man's information about warmer temperatures approaching along with the siting of the polar bears supposed to be indicative that humanity had a good chance of survival, and the two children would go on to continue humanity?
The protagonist and crew effectively performed manslaughter on the entire train- while it may have ended the lives of the decadent and corrupt, but also the innocent, the oppressed, and most importantly, the last known bastion of the human race at large. Seems like within 20 seconds they did a worse crime than the "villain" ever could have hoped to- put the human race at risk of extinction.
And then the "good" potential inference- how the fuck is the siting of Polar Bears supposed to imply that two human children who aren't mentally or physically adapted to the environment at hand have even a half decent chance of survival?
It could have been cool... Needed to cut out almost every action scene and add in character development. As a story and a dystopian sci-fi this could have been great.
What the FUCK was up with that Noble guy being such a tank? He was hardier/more persistent than the protagonist, was stealing the thunder even he was so badass.
And then the shooting-through-the-windows-into-the-other-car-attached-to-a-train-you're-riding-in? What little suspension of disbelief remained was shredded. Protagonist never trained with a firearm. Not to mention it was assumed the exterior environment was amicable to human life? Just stupid.

Other people survived. the director said it himself he just didint want to add more scenes to the already huge movie he made cause he doesint want to make lengthy movies. Snowpiecer was too legnthy for his taste.
Call me an autist but the fact a guys arm was frozen solid within 7mins makes it hard to believe life continued to exist for 17 years.
