Still refuse to believe that this was the actual Best Picture winner.

Agreed, not enough negroes
>>
If you don't like Spotlight, you probably diddle kiddies.
>>
>>66559074
Let me guess, you're catholic?
>>
I haven't seen it yet but I've seen a common behavior everyone who acknowledges it may have deserved to win simply because it's about an important issue.

How is the content relevant to the quality of the film?
>>
Literally every other film nominated was better than Spotlight. It was just so average.

"Men read books" - The Movie
>>
it's ok Francis, I'm sure nothing can happen to you
>>
DUDE

THE ATTEMPT OF THE SYSTEMATIC DESTRUCTION OF ANY RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION THAT FOLLOWS CHRIST BY WESTERN ATHEISTS AND JEWS

LMAO
>>
Why? Even Argo won
>>
>>66559168
The film is average-mediocre.
It doesn't bring anything new or interesting to the craft.
Doesn't evoke any real emotions.
And on top of it, it won jack shit for nearly everything else, so the BP win was obviously politically charged considering the actual filmmaking awards lost.

There have been worse Best Picture winners, but this year is probably the best example of how worthless the Oscars are for awarding achievements in film.

Ideal World - Cemetery of Splendour
Acceptable - Mad Max: Fury Road or Bridge of Spies
Whatever - Spotlight

At least The Revenant didn't win.
>>
It was the best of the films nominated. This was a weak year for film.
>>
Which of the other nominees deserved it more?

This is the silver linning people.

All of them.

>Catholics fuck kids
>THIS IS THE WORST THING EVER

Is this the new Crash?
>>
>>66559746
>dog shit like room and mad max
>deserving of anything
>>
>>66559108
I wish they'd spent more time showing them interviewing the priests. Father Paquin was utter perfect casting.

Of course then it would just be a fictionalized version of Deliver Us From Evil
>>
The Revenant > Mad Max > Spotlight > Room > The Big Short > Brooklyn > The Martian > Bridge of Spies
>>
>>66559635
I'd have picked Mad Max

but I just saw room and it was much better than spotlight, even revenant was above it

mad max>room>revenant>bridge>spotlight

didnt see the others yet
>>
>>66559991
>Spotlight, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn are better than Room and Mad Max
Contrarian pls.
>>
>>66559820
the muslim kids expect to be fucked and no one in islam tries to hide the kid-fucking.
>>
>>66559108
It was a good movie, but it doesn't have the same cinematographic value of The Revenant or Mad Max, you could have made it a documentary and it would have been just as good
>>
Room or Revenant should've won
>>
>>66560038
Whats annoying about room is it doesn't acknowledge the Fritzl case at all, despite being lifted wholesale from it, then it goes on to just dilute it further.
>>
>>66560064
>Catholics try to deal with their transgressors internally because they believe they can still be redeemed
OMG DIABOLICAL COVER UP

>Muslims deal with their transgressors internally often with capital punishment
Sharia law is just their way of life, don't be so intolerant!
>>
I'm still mad Carol and Sicario didn't get nominated as best picture, and didn't win anything at all. Mad Max deserved everything it got though, and The Revenant should've won best picture.
>>
>>66560148
Sharia law is actual punishment though. They don't punish adulterers by allowing them to sleep with every attractive member of the opposite sex in the village, age their leisure.

If the catholic church was stoning priests for diddling kids, catholocism would be the planetwide religion.
>>
>>66560203
Carol felt like a plotline from Mad Men (with gratuitous hot lesbian sex) and while sicario completely nailed the first and second act, the dog was fucked on the third and epilogue.
>>
>>66560080
The Revenant and Mad Max had no real value though. They were polished turds. Strip away the technical achievements and they're basically the same movie.

Its just shameful there was so little competition that leo got best actor for having cameras on him while he was miserable in the wilderness.
>>
>the film was too adult for my childish mind
>why didn't mad max win? it had many explosions and cute girlies
all I'm reading
>>
>>66560358
Carol is the perfect film, but it got snubbed because it was too subtle, and I kind of agree with Sicario, but come on The Martian was nominated
>>
>>66559074
Ten times better than Crash, come on
>>
>>66559820
>faulty comparison: the post
>>
>>66561018
>carol
>subtle
that's cute
>>
>>66559074
Only thing "Wrong" with it is that there no fancy camera work or special effects.

Just a bunch of damn good acting and the best script telling a powerful compelling story, and we have not had a good journalistic procedural in 30 years and with the newspapers and magazines dying ,might never get one again.
>>
This film sure put the spotlight on how terrible the Oscars are

>win none of the smaller awards
>win none of the big awards
>still get Best Picture

Why does this keep happening?
>>
Anyone who rates Bridge of Spies lower than Spotlight is either a fedoralord or a retard. Bridge of Spies is the bar that movies must cross over to qualify for movie of the year. Spotlight was escorted to the finish line by Hollywood jews. Fuck this sham contest.
>>
Found out this morning, really unbelievable.

Was the movie I looked forward to most in 2015, was very disappointed. Every other nominee I saw was more deserving. Won solely based on subject matter alone, for absolutely sure.
>>
>>66561286

Won Best Screenplay at a lot of places, and won best ensemble.

Name one similarity between the substance of these two films
