The 2010's onward is shaping up to be possibly the worst decade for film since its entire inception. What has taken place in the last 20-30 years? Why are less and less people cinematically educated and knowledgeable?

The 2010 decade will be known as the decade of the Memefilm.

you forgot The Lego Movie, or the Hobbit Trilogy

Except those are movies and flicks, and no one will know it as "decade of memefilm" outside 4chan, that by the 2020 will cease to exist.

We are witnessing the dawn of a new type of motion picture: the Memëmⱺgrǎphy
>>
>>66558438
Jurassic World is significantly worse than any of those movies by a very, very wide margin.
>>
the 10s were pretty good up until 2015 to be honest
the pleb shit was much more terrible than usual and even the so called "pretentious hipster bullshit" wasn't as great as the years before
>>
>>66558748
>this pile of shit smells a bit worse than those other ones
>>
>>66558748
It's definitely still on their generally low quality spectrum regardless
>>
>implying <insert movie> isn't meme tier
>>
>>66558774
>>66558809
I completely agree. They're all bad, but what I said still stands.
>>
why did you do this
>>
>>66558438
Looks like you're paying attention to the wrong movies. There's just as much cinephyle movies as there is capeshit...but you're local cinema just doesn't show them.

If this is really your problem, then you probably just live in a shit-hole.
>>
>>66558438
>I went an saw all these clearly terrible movies and now I'm mad.

That's over a hundred dollars in tickets and crab legs OP. Stop watching bad movies.
>>
they literally gave redditwars the meme categories in the oscars and it still didn't win
>>
>>66558922
Because i think you are a patrician that can't finish the job, i think you are a half-pleb.
You know you are only one reddit movie away from me.

Change Jurassic World to Dredd and maybe Dredd to Edge of Tomorrow or Frank

It will win huge in the final chapter, just like LotR.

more like "the decade of popular films anon hates because he hates popular things because he's 15 and wants to feel like an individual even though he's just like everyone else"
>>
>>66559563
Have you ever based an opinion on a desire to be different than the mainstream even if it was contrary to how you actually felt? Or is it just something you think other people (whose opinions you disagree with) do?
I suspect that rarely if ever happens, and is nothing more than an easy way to dismiss opinions you don't like or can't argue against effectively.
>>
Are there any 4chancore movies?
>>
>>66558438
can someone tell me what exactly is a meme movie?
>>
>>66559586
Of course I try to make my own opinions. I just don't immediately disregard something for being popular. For the record I thought Jurassic World was hot garbage and they'll never capture the magic of the orginal ever again. To me it was a product of the time.
>>
>>66558438
can you list any advanced memecore films for me

i have seen all the entry level and am ready to level up my memecore credentials

so you're a pretentious pleb lmao
>>
>>66559563
>the "contrarian" meme

That's surely it! There's no way those giant, studio-made blockbusters could be largely formulaic with one-note characters and plots we've seen before 100 times. No--it couldn't be!
>>
>>66559599
Problem Child 2
>>
>>66559586
using "contrarian" on /tv/ is definitely just a lazy tactic people use now to "defend" popular, mediocre stuff because it's easier than making arguments.
>>
>>66559877
Why do self titled patricians think being mediocre means it's the worst piece of shit ever?
>>
>>66559883
maybe you newf*gs!

Red Letter Media praised and loved all those movie. And RLM is literally never wrong.

The difference being that with the advent of capeshit literally every other film released this decade so far has been a memefilm.

lel, learn to think in the long-term, loser.
4chan will never die. It will evolve.
>>
>Memefilm

I've seen some pretty meaningless forced buzzwords on /tv/, but this is damn impressive.
>>
>>66560168
Half of those are just shitty pleb films and not meme movies. Deadpool is literally just Meme Reynolds spouting memes at the audience for 2 hours. It's pure memes in motion, every frame a memesterpiece.
>>
>>66562346
>waahh mommy OP insulted my space battle flick waahhhhh
>>
>>66562489
I'm thinking about writing an analysis of The Deadpool Movie:The Man of A Million Memes (2016) as a cultural and anthropological phenomenon because that movie was horrific in a way that is likely never to be replicated. I wish there was another word to describe that film other than "meme" but that's all we have right now.
