It was absolutely shit m8.

Seriously I usually like these slow burning atmospheric movies, but this just bored me.

>That entire boat segment
>>
I thought it was boring.

It had it's moments overall, but it didn't really have any substance.
>>
I love this movie, it's a decent pleb filter, I find, too (boring is not a criticism of a film). Sadly, I really can't think of anything else like it. Beyond the Black Rainbow maybe?
>>
The cinematography was gorgeous, but nothing fucking happened. I'd get more entertainment watching a documentary on the weather.
>>
>>66443422
Hated the ending. Loved the boat segment. But yeah, it bored me a bit.

I bet the people who didn't like this movie didn't like Aguirre Wrath of God either
>>
>>66443332
It's pretty depressing to watch, but that's sort of the point I guess.
>>
>>66443569
>boring is not a criticism of a film
Why not?
>>
>>66443692
A movie can be poorly paced (which this was not), but you finding a film boring means you didn't connect with it, not that it's a bad film. I find this movie very intense and entertaining
>>
I think it was the first "slow cinema" I'd ever seen and really loved it at the time. Watching it years later and I'd agree with others that something is missing from it.

>>66443669
What do they have in common other than riverboats and clashes with Natives?
>>
>>66443778
"Intense and entertaining" are also subjective and have as much/little meaning as "boring"

"Poorly paced" and "boring" have no correlation either. Transformers 3 very fast paced but put me to sleep
>>
Nothing else like it.

Nobody risks the wrath of short attention span children.
>>
>>66443844
Those were exactly my points. I find this movie great, you find it boring, both were out perceptions of it, not comments on quality.

My other point was that if you want to criticize a movie, especially for boring you, then pacing is the thing to comment on, as it is an important part of any movie. It is a valid thing to critique in a movie as opposed to calling it boring

>Hated the ending.

Yeah. Wish the movie would have stayed in Europe and ended with the slaughter of Christcucks.
>>
>>66443793
>Have in common
The slow pacing of travel, the unseen enemy (which in the case of VR is ruined by the end; I'll add that I liked the ending but it made it a movie more about mythology than something like Aguirre).
>>
didn't really like it outside the boat scene.

turns out it's packed full of autistic symbolism you only get if you've studied Norse culture.

Darker than black S3 did the same shit.
>>
>>66444002
>wrath
Aguirre is sort of similar.

>>66443669
Yes.

Also watch The Revenant
>>
>>66443332
I liked it.
>>
I enjoyed it.

Not similar to this movie, but another film that has the same actor that was decent: Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas.

Really boring.
Watched it because I love Mad Mikkelsen but even that man didn't make the movie more enjoyable.

Thingy veiled Mads thread?

Also, Valhalla Rising is the only Mads film so far that I didn't like
>>
>>66448463
Have you seen Pusher II?

That's the GOAT IMO. I haven't seen Hannibal.

All the Pusher films are great
I like the last one the best desu although the end ending to the first two are GOAT

Hannibal is top tier television, just ignore the autistic fanbase.
>>
>>66448573
Yeah I have been thinking about watching it. I vaguely heard that it had no ending, but I kind of don't want to google "hannibal ending" because I don't want to get spoiled. Are you able to explain what happened with the cancellation?
>>
>>66445344
This.
Ultimately better, too.
>>
shit movie
>>
>>66448617
season 3 was too self-indulgent and 'weird' for normies so they cancelled it

didn't deserve to be cancelled, there's plenty of shit-tier tv shows still airing instead of it but oh well

it's good and worth it just to see Mads do his thing
>>
>>66448805
Nice. I'll watch it.
>>
>>66445344
yeah watch this op it's a great movie
>>
>>66443332

Maybe my alltime favorite

It got cancelled early but the ending is perfect.
Probably one of the best endings to a show I have ever seen.
>>

>Hannibal is top tier television

Sure, if you ignore the second half of season 2 and all of season 3. and the first three episodes of season 1. and the season 1 finale.
>>
>>66448720
I'll take your opinion into consideration
>>

OGF, not even joking. Then anything made by Refn
