now there are obviously some hits and some big misses. Hard for me to call Prometheus or The Martian 'bad', I thought they were enjoyable until you started to think about them afterwards. Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Black Hawk Down are some of my personal favourite movies. I just compare him to someone like PTA or the Coen Brothers where they have less movies I can say I liked. Even if There Will Be Blood or No Country for Old Men are better than any of Scott's movies from this century, I think the general consistency makes Ridley the best of the 21st century.

He's pretty much the best entertainer in cinema today. He has the craft of creating an enjoyable movie which doesn't lack too much depth down to an absolute tee.
