So I'm 10 minutes into Spectre and Bond has caused two buildings to (partially) collapse probably killing dozens of civillians and now he knocked down the pilot of the helicopter that's flying just over a crowd of hundreds. What the fuck is this sociopathic shit?

inb4 plebs bitch and moan about me putting a bondshit movie on pause to write this
>>
I thought the same thing. You're better off turning it off now because the rest of the flick is just as stupid.
>>
They're not white people so it doesn't matter to him.
>>
>>64996198
Sam Mendes had no idea what he was doing in this one. He just threw a bunch of shit to the wall hoping something would stick like Skyfall. Didn't really pan out. Even my dad who is a huge Craig/Bond fan had very little to say about it.
>>
>>64996198
why do you think the movie is seem as the worst one?

If you didn't enjoy the beginning you might as well turn it off. It's the only good scene in the movie.

Maybe jump to Christoph Waltz making an ass out of himself if you want to laugh.
>>
>>64996198
Didn't like it at all, everything just felt off, like they thought they couldn't fail after Skyfall turned out to be really good.

Also the theme song is quite possibly the least appropriate song for a bond movie ever, and that whole "I was so inspired by seeing a little bit of the movie that I wrote the entire song in 20 minutes!! XD" by that faggot Sam Smith really showed; it felt like an entire 20 minutes of effort and work had been put into it. Really fucking disappointing.
>>
>>64996198
Since when has Bond EVER cared something other than completing the mission? He has always been reckless.
>>
Movie Bond has been a sociopath since minute one.
>>
>>64996198
Spectre is the worst bond movie I've seen so far. I haven't seen any of the Roger Moore ones.

It's just a complete mess of ideas and plotlines. Blofeld is supposed to be a mastermind that has been behind all the previous craig-bond villains, yet he acts like a complete retard in the final act of the film. It's complete trash. I feel sorry for brits.

>tfw downloaded Spectre yesterday and tried to watch it
>ran into the same problem and it really took me out of the movie Bond acting like that
I got about a half hour in and stopped watching. Why are Bond films so shit now? First they chose that crap theme that was written in twenty minutes but then the rest of the movie isn't so good either.
>>
I haven't seen this yet because I assumed it was gonna be shite
Yesterday I heard that radiohead did the score for it, so I was considering it
>>
>>64996284
They tried to stick to the Bond formula and give it a twist by adding a fourth act after the destruction of the villain's lair.
But it doesn't work because the 3rd act ends too soon and the 4th is cliched and unoriginal.
>>
I'm just getting to the last third myself. It's pretty fucking weak so far and gets very stupid but the fight on the train is pretty sweet before the comedy ending.
>>
>>64996952
They only did a song for the theme which wasn't picked. Instead the one that was chosen was written in 20 minutes by a faggot.
>>

it's relevant because these capeshit movies deal
with saving the world/a group of people/a person and if the characters act in a way that contradicts their whole purpose then it all falls apart. out of the three you're talking about Avengers is the best when it comes down to how characters fulfill their roles as a point was made about saving whoever they can when they can whilst dealing with AN ARMY. the others had the character act like a retard because there was a chance to show MUH CGI SPLOSIONS with Bond being the worst because they took out all the gadgets and shit that made Bond cool and had to compensate. TL;DR it's completely relevant if you're not autistic.

Yellow Filter: The Movie

is this deus ex?
>>
>>64999073
Thank you for perfectly illustrating my point.
In man of steel superman is opposed by AN ARMY of literal supermen. They all have the power to level cities and on top of that there are multiple highly advanced spacecraft at their disposal and a machine that can literally compact the entire planet.

The avengers are one by one picking off minor threats that amount to little more than humans on hoverbikes with guns aside from the giant flying worm thing which thor and hulk end after a long battle destroying large parts of the city.
The thing they do is save the city from being nuked by its own government after which the aliens just die because "lol mind controlled drones" or some such shit.
They save a city.
Superman saves the entire planet and the damage done is a few city blocks leveled and yet he gets blamed for the entire thing?
And then also gets shit on for killing the villain who admits that he'd never stop and has the same abilities as superman.
And as far as acting like retards for entertainment purposes go, I hardly think you should comment on that in the same post that you defend the avengers.

Imagine being Monica Bellucci in this movie and having to be all like "damn, Daniel Craig, you fuckin' fine, all sexy with your tight body and hair with the same color as your skin. I would totally have sex with you, both my character and the real me." when all she really wants to do is fuck another 10 year old in her dressing room. Like seriously imagine having to be Monica Bellucci and not only pretend you're interested in seducing this 5’9’’ wrinkly mess of a man, the favorable lighting barely concealing the box he’s standing on, and just sit there, take after take, hour after hour, while he mumbles some soulless mysterious one-liners he picked from other movies or whatever. Not only having to tolerate his monstrous fucking visage but his haughty attitude as everyone on set tells him she's STILL GOT IT and DAMN, DANIEL CRAIG LOOKS LIKE *THAT*?? because they're not the ones who have to sit there and watch his disgusting british fingers trying to caress your mediterran hair. You've been fucking nothing but a healthy diet of young boys and Vincent Cassels. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the sweat that's breaking out on his barren womb as he sucks it in to writhe it suggestively at you, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to sit there and revel in his „stotuscé“ (he meant "statuesque" but can’t say it because his disgusting british accent)“ beauty, the beauty he worked so hard for with personal trainers and expensive anti aging creams in the previous months. And then the director calls for another take, and you know you could seduce every single person in this room before the studio security could put you down, but you sit there and endure, because you're fucking Monica Bellucci. You're not going to lose your not yet born future boytoys. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

If you're going to complain about something that early in the movie, it really should be that Craig somehow continues to look 60 years old. His hair looks 80.

Literally go on wikipedia and type in "AUTOBAHN".
Over 50% of it has no speed limit.
Almost all of it has no speed limit ever, some of it has temporary speed limits due to weather and sub par conditions etc. About 30% has a permanent speed limit.

I was like '?, we're talking about James Bond being rapey' and she said 'Ohhh right, well actually that's hot that he dominates like that'

I saw this in the cinema and proper laughed hard in the gunfight escaping the spectre base, where bond was just walking around with loads of guys shooting at him, and he was one hand firing an SMG and one-shotting people fucking miles away. It was geniunely stupid looking, slipped into a parody of itself.

Its clear they really dont care anymore. Spectre was so lazy it was pitiful to watch. The bond films exist now solely to advertise beer, sunglesses, watches and phones.
>>
It's a disappointing film.

For about 100 minutes it's gearing up to be a very good spectacle. Beautiful cinematography, atmospheric, good action set pieces, thrilling, good soundtrack, performances from the actors are on point - yes the writing isn't that deep or complex but it's not pretending to be at this point

and then Blofeld happens and decides 'No you shall not have fun', breaks the movie with terrible writing, slows the pace down horribly and it never recovers from that.

It should've never gone with the whole retarded drama attempt with Blofeld and Bond, that shit just failed on spectacular level.

It's like the crew got changed once the movie hits 100 minute mark.. sad.

but the first 100 minutes, BOY WHAT A FUCKING RIDE. Those are some VERY VERY GOOD 100 minutes.

That's what I mean! The Blofeld, everything related to him, his Meteorite base, it is EXACTLY LIKE I said >>65008448 here that the crew got changed or something changed because it felt nobody gave a single solitary fuck about what happened there or later in the film making process.

and it's sad because I fell in love with the first 100 minutes but the movie goes to trash can tier so fast when they drop from the train and go to Blofeld's.
>>
They want to be campy bond, but can't commit to it and keep the grit in, making it feel really weird.
>>
>>65008525
There was no campy bond, they just stopped caring about making Spectre about 100 minutes in when they had to write and introduce Blofeld and everything related to him which was pure shit.

It was just bad.

>Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan, who played Bond in four films released between 1995 to 2002, commented on Spectre (2015) in November 2015 in an interview with 'HitFlix'. Brosnan said: "I was looking forward to it enormously. I thought it was too long. The story was kind of weak - it could have been condensed. It kind of went on too long. It really did. [It] is neither fish nor fowl. It's neither Bond nor Bourne. Am I in a Bond movie? Not in a Bond movie? But Daniel, in the fourth go-round, has ownership of it. He had a nice looseness to him. He's a mighty warrior, and I think he found a great sense of himself in this one with the one-liners and a nice playfulness there. Just get a tighter story, and he'll have another classic. I think the guy was just fairly banjaxed by playing it. By the time you finish making a Bond movie, you don't want to hear the name, see the name or have anything to do with it because you just want to go to ground. Give him another year off here, and he'll be ready to rock and roll for sure."
>>
>>65008780
Actually outside the Blofedld camp I felt it was well paced, but the writing wasn't up to the task and Mendes started slipping a lot past 100 minute mark.

It could've been so much worse.

>>
>>65009557
I don't recall production issues but by my whiskers I do not understand why they thought after making such a beautiful action spectacle with GREAT pacing (the first 60 minutes went fucking flying) they decided to fuck it up so hard.

All the drama bits were so phony and fake between Bond and Blofeld ruined the movie. I didn't even care about Blofeld's jealousy and the actor was half-assing it (like EVERYONE, where did Hoyte's beautiful cinematography go? there are only bits of it at the end when Bond goes with the chick)

It's just annoys me so much.
>>
>>65009974
To be honest, the first half looked beautiful, or at least incredibly crisp, sterile and sharp. I have never really been a fan of Hoyte's DP work. Her was beautiful, but he has never really won me over. I'd love to see a Bond with Lubetski (sp?). Now that would be incredibly unique and perhaps a refreshing change from the grim dark and monotonous shite we've got lately.

I agree with everyone phoning it in, Waltz especially, which was baffling. There was a level of disdain among the cast and crew, rumour has it. Craig's a notorious asshole and had Belucci's role basically axed because she wouldn't fuck him. This is just gossip though.
>>
>>65010325
Hoyte's DP work reminded of some New Hollywood films I have seen from the 70s, but I just can't put my finger on what movie is it what I am thinking about (esp. the scenes with more yellows in them) also the gorgeous blues in the night when the first car chase starts got my dick going.

That rumor part is weird because honestly as an action spectacle the first 100 minutes are 8/10 material for me and I kept hoping it'd nail it and then it all just crashed and burned.

Like everything after they leave the train station in the desert, to head to Blofeld - like everything after this scene in picture related was filmed years after with a whole new crew and atmosphere in the set which ruins everything for me. So many cuts and really stupid plot, horrible attempts at drama, like I said uninteresting and vanilla cinematography, Mendes fucking up, actors (especially Waltz) being terrible (the French chick was suddenly all shit too?)
>>
>>64996198
>he knocked down the pilot of the helicopter that's flying just over a crowd of hundreds.
why he did that?
>>
>>65010470
I can't remember what the source said verbatim, but apparently Craig thinks he's some kind of god, cheats on Weisz, is an asshole to the crew etc.

Mendes was reluctant to sign on to Spectre and I think it shows.

Plus you got niggerpenny claiming that Bond Girls should not be called 'Bond Girls'.

I think between all this on set drama and drastic third act rewrites, we were lucky we got such a coherent piece of work. It was a bit of a let down, but in all honesty, I enjoyed it more than I did Skyfall.

Also, the third act reminded me exactly of Dr. No. But then they have that final haunted house maze thing which felt a bit weird. Blofeld was a shit-tier villain.

>>
>>65010670
Mendes was reluctant to sign on Spectre? That's news to me because it's really has a lot of build up to be something very good and I thought Mendes did a good job making those action set pieces (few too many cuts, shits the bed later on like said, about the time when they arrive to Meteorite Base). There's hardly anything I have to criticize about the pre-Meteorite Base bits. I love most of that stuff.

>I think between all this on set drama and drastic third act rewrites, we were lucky we got such a coherent piece of work. It was a bit of a let down, but in all honesty, I enjoyed it more than I did Skyfall.

It's surprisingly coherent, I mean the plot isn't trying to be really that complex and there's a redline with narratives, but dear lord the acting and writing of characters and their dialogue fails. None of the drama during and past Meteorite Base (which they so hard tried to do) translates at all to me. It just all reeks of failed attempts and director slacking off, everyone slacking off. There was definitely good enough drama before they go to MB, surface level drama what action spectacle needs not less not more and it was performed well.

Blofeld was a pretty bad villain, because we are supposed to take so much for granted.

Bardem's expression of Silva's love and hate was so much better it's not even in the same fucking league

Nothinga nnoys me more than movie with potential failing to deliver. This had so much potential.
>>
>>65010893
Oh forgot to add, crudely put,
Drama in Skyfall was million times better than drama in Spectre and we all know it wasn't that good in Skyfall.

Casino Royale still the GOAT.

First movie where I think Craig actually phoned it in, Spectre.

Skyfall is dogshit

Spectre is dogshit with cinnamon on top
>>
>>65010893
Yeah, from memory he felt like it was huge work the first time and perhaps had said all he needed to say through Skyfall

Blofeld was a bad villain, but as I said, I got a strong Dr. No vibe with the meteorite base (assuming that was where they were dropped off). Though due to the seriousness and lack of camp, it felt odd and flat. I think they wanted Blofeld to be this imposing enigma, but again, that fell flat. Regardless of what I thought of Skyfall, Bardem's portrayal of Silva is one of the best things that has ever happened in the series.

I am cautiously optimistic for the next film. Perhaps they will learn the error of their ways, or maybe we'll get another bizarre QoS?

>>65010971
CR is the GOAT, same with Goldeneye. What do they have in common? The same director
>>
>>65010670

>but apparently Craig thinks he's some kind of god

I find it hard to believe. In every interview it seems like it's the exact opposite, he's very humble and hates talking about himself.
>>
>>65011431
I beg to disagree, Mendes would have some sort of nieche as 'sophisticated action' director as seen in Spectre's first 100 minutes. Sure he won't ever be a director that has something to say or be visionary but I would personally wathc movies like Spectre's first half, action, high production quality, great goddamn action set pieces, slow burner feel to the atmosphere, feel of grand scale and lots of European cities, Hoytema's somewhat new hollywoodish cinematography giving it a great look.

>>65011496
>thought of Skyfall, Bardem's portrayal of Silva is one of the best things that has ever happened in the series.
I rewatched Skyfall with my brother and after first thinking he was grating, I fell in love with his theatrical style the second time. The last scene with him meeting M is very good.

>Bizarre QoS
I think I like overall QoS more than Spectre. At least I don't get the disappointment with QoS since I expected a trainwreck from the start.
