The entire notion that the human mind could at all truly comprehend an eternal, omnipotent, universal consciousness - let alone personify it and communicate with it is just beyond unbelievably ridiculous to me.
After being raised very religious and later growing out of it, most organised worship of a deity seems like a very human exercise in ego: always being the "chosen ones" or particularly special amongst their God's children. Not to mention this ego based platform inspires a more divided view of the world, I truly believe religion dissolves people's sense of personal responsibility for the state of their community at large, or even just the human race as a whole.
Organised religion was useful 2000 years ago to bring segregated and warring tribal groups into a more cohesive and functional society, through the use of easily grasped rules and childish parables. These days it only seems to serve as another means to segregate and factionize the human race.

Can confirm, came here during the last legs of Chanology, in late '08. Reddit didn't even become an insult until around 2011, when a shitload of them started to come here and shitting up the place.
