I this going to be another rated-PG "2spooky" film like Goosebumps or are we talking R-rated "4spooky" The Conjuring?
>>
I think it's more like a "Pacific Rim 2" and "Silent Hills."
>>
NOT THE SPIDERS ONE

ANYTHING BUT THE SPIDERS ONE DEL TACO

PLS HAVE MERCY
>>
PG-13 if it even gets made. El Gordo is not exactly successful at getting his memes off the ground these days.
>>
>>64883795

Don't do that.
>>
>>64883737
It'll be crowd funded, calling it now.
>>
Is this going to be a vignettes thing?
>>
>>64883737
>R rated movie based on a popular children's series
You fucking retarded?
>>
>>64883795
I chuckled
>>
>>64883737
anyone here genuinely liked goosebumps?
I thought it was a decent flick
ghost girl was cute but executed poorly and all actors that weren't JB were insufferable.
>>
>>64883737
it will be shelved just like all this hack's projects
>>
Has there ever been a filmmaker with so much unrealized potential? he should just quit already and do everyone a favor.
>>
>>64884273
Orson Welles
>>
Great illustrations in those books, but it's a dumb idea. Will never get made.
>>
Damn I'm actually excited. Del taco has some nostalgic taste I like it
>>
>>64883737
Since the books are just a collection of folk tales, the only thing you can really do to set it apart is doing an anthology movie and focus on creating visuals similar to the classic illustrations. Otherwise it'd be no different than all the other movies based on the same folk tales.
>>
>>64884378
Trust in del taco

That fucking picture, there is no way this can be done for a movie without it being fucked up unless a master makes it.

Del toro has a mastery of spookyness IMO
>>
>>64884937
the scarecrow always made me shit myself
>>
Has Del Toro ever finished a movie?
>>
>>64883737
That book freaked the fuck out of me when I was a kid.

Please, Del Taco. You gotta do it right.
>>
>>
I'm actually pretty hype. The only thing the books had going for them were the visuals, and I'm confident Del Toro can nail them.
>>

>>
>>64883737
Del taco is always saying that he is working on something and everytime it ends on nothing.
>>
What ever happened to his adaptation of Urasawa's Monster? Or Slaughterhouse 5?

Get it together, Del Toro

Or PT, or the Haunted Mansion (cannibalized), or At the Mountains of Madness.

THIS GUY HAS NEVER FINISHED A MOVIE

Hoping it'll be an anthology type thing.
>>
He is the Mexican Tim Burton. He desperately needs a writer to make his movies watchable
>>
>crowd funded
>it's an animated series of short's ala Creepshow
>Animation is the same style as the pictures in the book

WOuld you?
>>

Spoopiest illustration imo
>>
>>64888371
Sure, if it's spooky.

Love to see a well done Harold.
>>
>>64883904
I fucking hope so.

>tfw it's got bizarre choppy animation and looks like a 1:1 recreation of Stephen Gammel's artwork straight from hell

I'd shit my pants. It'd be absolutely insane.
>>
>its a cat kills my teacher and dad then me episode
>>

Reminds me of that one abstract movie that uses clips from lost films to make a movie
>>

This, the art is what truly makes these books so special
>>
fucking G O A T book .. the nostalgia
>>
THE WORMS GO IN

It'll be trash like everything else GDT does.

PG-13 "3spooky" like Insidious.

You obviously never read the books. Neck yourself.
>>
>hard PG-13 adaptation
mitebgud
>>
>wanting it to be R

You want them to add a bunch of gratuitous blood and gore or what? The stories are spooky because of what you don't see.
>>
I would personally fund this if Del Taco can't get studio backing
>>
I never even read these fucking books

the pics were 2spooky4me
>>
>>64892149

>Harold flaying a person and stretching his skin across the roof
>The butchers grinding people into sausage
>The girl having a thousand spider explode from a hole in her face

That's just three I remember.
>>
>>64892507
Still wouldn't be scary to actually see. The stories were effective because they left it to your imagination.
>>
>>64892544
>The stories were effective because they left it to your imagination.
They had vivid illustrations though

I'd say the illustrations were what made the stories so scary. For me anyway.
>>
>>64893089

Holy shit what were they thinking? Hilariously bad. Any reasons they fucked with the original illustrations? The illustrations was a big part of the creepiness.
>>
>>64885885

One of the best ones, I also like the wraith story, and the civil war soldier. It's going to be more like tales and the crypt meets alone in the dark. The prostetics will be good and over the top but the story simple and tamed.

The one story about the drum that those kids found in the woods fucked me up

If anyone could do it, Del Toro could.

the thing is they were just generic retellings of common spooky stories. What made the books so great were the illustrations. IDK if you could ever capture that in any other medium.

>"What Do You Come For?" is the third story included in the book Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

>An old woman who lives by herself feels very lonely one night and says, "I wish I had some company." Two feet appear, dangling from the chimney. Then, a body and some arms and some legs, two eyes, and a head. They belong to a man, who then jumps down from the chimney and dances around the room The woman asks him, "What do you come for?" The man answers, "What do I come for? For YOU!"

What did he mean by this?
>>
>>64895486
FUCK

It creeped me the fuck out now, it'd probably kill me as a kid.
>>
the guy that drew these illustrations is a fucking B E A S T
>>
>>64895486
I always thought this was one of the less spoopy illustrations.
>>
>>64883737
Probably gonna be PG at most PG-13. The art in those books was spooky but most of the actual stories were relatively tame.
>>
>>64885015

Gammell is a madman.
