Spinning up something as massive as ceres is already borderline ludicrous even with the magical 1g constant thrust engines they have in this universe. Making it spin to produce earth like gravity would be impossible even for this level of technology and .3g is already a nice amount of gravity, i think that belters have serious health problems because they spend to much in 0g when they are out there in the belt working.
Still, mass wise ceres in a drop in the bucket compared to a proper planet. Even compared to our moon is a tiny rock, only 3-4% of it's mass.

That's actually really cool. One could argue that spinning up a smaller (but still big) body is possible with near future tech. If you could use the materials that a big asteroid is made of as fuel with ISRU methods and some highly efficient engines you could end up with a hollowed asteroid spinning faster. Most space opera is not really interested in science fiction at all, it's more of a retelling of the Age of Exploration where ships crossed oceans to meet and trade with/kill/colonize strange and quirky natives.

That's without a spacesuit at all. Uncle Matteo opened his visor only, for about 10 sec. He exhaled slowly and constantly throughout to avoid having the blood vessels in his lungs burst. He wasn't close enough to the sun to get thoroughly zapped and cooked by all the nasty rays. Most of all he made it look like an everyday thing... because he's a Belter.

We don't know what kind of atm pressure martians use on their ships or how much air was leaking out, we can only speculate with what we saw on the scene. Also a human is more massive than some blood and amos had his magboots on. Still, you gotta remember this is a tv show, they will some details off here and there wrong, sometimes even on purpose. This is not like some hard scifi books that tries to be 100% right all the time even if it makes the plot less interesting and sometimes stop all plot progression to explain the math behind how something works in 5 pages.

That one with the astronaut having a hole in his glove for almost an entire spacewalk was amazing - and all he ended up with was a red mark on his hand (which he thought was from chafing) where the blood had rushed to the surface of the skin and effectively plugged the hole. Arthur C. Clarke wrote a similar story (before spacewalking was even a thing) were a guy trapped in a sealed off corridor on a moonbase plugged a hole with his ass - and only ended up needing a skin graft on the freezerburnt glute after.
At worst in the Expanse scene Uncle Matteo's face might have swollen up a bit and felt a bit chilly - and that would have resolved itself when he put the visor back on an re-pressurised. Perhaps as one incident from that video mentioned he might have lost his sense of taste for a few hours.
Nice to see a tv show on Syfy that doesn't look like cheap garbage.

The Expanse has been surprisingly great but that may be because I've sidelined trying to predict where the plot and characters are going. It's got a dumb tagline of "GoT but in space" but I don't see the similarities. We've seen enough of the Belter faction. Really looking forward to seeing more of the Mars faction. /tv/ Is my only go-to for discussing this show.

The only guiding ethos he really has is loyalty to his family (ie, the Rocinante crew) but he knows that can take him too far if he goes for revenge. So whatever Naomi says goes, since he met her before he met Holden.
He does want to bang her though. He knows it won't ever happen and he doesn't push it, because his mom was a poorly treated hooker and he was pimped out as a kid.

They build a certain amount of shielding into ships and stations. But with ships it's a mass vs protection issue and the more mass you devote to hull plating the more you have to eke out of your engine and it might cut into your cargo space etc so compromises have to be made.
Radiation is one of the issues killing Belters young, along with their shit diet and growing up out of a steady 1g environment like they were evolutionarily designed to do which causes anomalies in bone and muscular development, among other things.
Radiation damage to DNA is a problem, but then carrying a foetus to term is an issue for female Belters as it is with their physiques. So mostly it's a steady cycle of people from Earh/Mars leave home and go to the belt where they settle down and maybe have kids > kids grow up in low-gee and can't handle normal gravity so have to become spacers > have fertility issues and die off > get replaced by new people from Earth/Mars going on. You won't be getting many 3rd or 4th-generation Belters.
People who can't go home to Earth or Mars and are or want to get pregnant often go to Ganymede since it has a magnetosphere and that helps with rad exposure too.

I am not saying it is the only factor in preventing radiation, I was just saying it is one of them and it looked easier to put a magnetic field on a ship than flooding it with ozone alright
