What Asian cinema has /tv/ been watching lately?

>Asian Cinema General
No. Generals are circle-jerk cancer. Don't try to force it.

I don't care what it is, there was just a good thread the other day about Asian cinema so I thought I'd try and get another one going.

Overseas at the moment, Ran was on the hotel movie channel. Dad hadn't watched it before and I watched it only recently so I watched it again with him, it's still great as a re-watch although I think the 3rd acts pace is disproportionate to the rest of the 3rd act.

Why is Yojimbo so much more enjoyable than Seven Samurai. The latter has aged like milk.
>asian cinema
what a meme
that's like saying "white cinema"
I bought 5 sion sono flicks on blu-ray yesterday although I've seen 3 of them before. Going to sit down and watch Assassin later and am going to a showing of A Touch of Sin on Thursday even though I saw that the first time it came around too.
I've not really kept up with asian cinema this year, would be good to get some recommendations for 2015 releases
Finally watched Linda Linda Linda yesterday. Qt and comfy af.

That's because the inferior versions have to be labeled. The superior is always assumed.

uh, no it's not. people classify the distinction between american and european cinema
Watched The Chaser recently, just seemed weird in my opinion, but I know fuck all about Korea's police laws.
Also are Korean police just incredibly incompetent? I have watched 3 Korean movies, Chaser/MoM/Oldboy
Chaser/MoM are just riddled with corruption and pure stupidity, Oldboy to a much lesser extent.
Pretty strange

please tell me how chinese and japanese cinema are in anyway similar
>>64744919
oh my god
they're not, you're grouping them by continent. people also say european cinema which encompasses 51 different countries and cultures. "asian cinema" is used because ANY form of asian cinema is rarely talked about on here and there's so many asian countries putting out quality films. do you think i should create a thread for every separate country in asia?
>>64744893
>american cinema
literally no one says this

South Koreans have very little respect for the police after they were such a tram player for the dictators after the Korean war.
Also very poorly educated until recently, so country side cops were probably quite incompetent.
