It really is. WCs is probably the Wayans best movie by far. It got F reviews when it came out, but I think it plays better in today's atmosphere of tension surrounding gender issues. Then again, the Wayans were always a bit ahead of their time

The plot of the movie is simple, it states it from the very first frames of the movie. Russel Crowe's commands a ship during the Napoleonic Wars and is tasked to find a French ship that's disrupting trade n shit. His orders are literally "Sink, Burn, or take her as a Prize"
The themes of the movie are more complicated but one thing thats obvious is the theme of whether men need leaders and do what they're told, Russel Crowe is a boss in that movie and almost acts as a dictator the same type as the one he's fighting (Napoleon)

It's more abstract.
It's a weird look into the fucked-up lives of a few people, with little exposition or plot.
I personally think it's style-over-substance, but a lot of people hold it's better than Drive.
Worth a watch just for the visuals.
