Any individual episode is basically 8/10, but taken as a whole the series is pretty dreary and hard to sit through in any kind of marathon or binge situation.
Think of it more like Law and Order, in that you could watch one any time, but if you watch them all in one go you can get really sick of it really fast.

Any given episode is legitimately good, with fairly good performances from the principle actors, usually either good or funny performances by the guest actors, and a medical mystery that basically always has good momentum throughout. The problem is it's probably the single most formulaic television series of the 2000s. As a result, though each episode is couched in the ongoing personal and relationship dramas of the various characters, the A-plot is always literally the exact same story told again and again and again. At times, it's like if Law and Order had an ongoing plot.
Also, the show basically became unwatchable for a large stretch in the back half due to House and Cuddy hooking up.

While I agree that after that episode there was a definite decline, the only bad episode I can think of is Kutner's suicide, only because fuck man there were so many different ways they could have written kutner off and they chose the worst.
