Hi I'm looking for excellent films like pic related.
I have already watched like two thirds of Wong Kar-wai filmography, if you know anything similar please let me know.
Thanks.

I assume you've already watched 2046. The GOAT cinematography is by Christopher Doyle, so you could try other films he's been involved in. For more suits, qipaos and smoking you could also try Lust, Caution and the earlier Purple Butterfly (which stars Zhang Ziyi and has a very, very similar plot).

Yeah Lust, Caution is a good rec. What aspects of the film are you wanting to see in recommendations? The style? The non traditional romance? The period nature?

Already watched Lust, Caution.
You understoond completely.
I have also watched and liked Chungchin Express (very very good) and Days of being wild (just good.).

yeah, non traditional romance. Keep it chinese.
You mean movies with a similar sort of tone?
Valley of the flowers is a good one
Also, since Inarritu is back in the spotlight, it might be worth going back to Babel

>non traditional romance. Keep it chinese

Happy Together. Another Wong Kar Wai, better than Days of Being Wild, not as good as ITMFL

flowers of shanghai, but it's too patrish for /tv/. it's even too patrish for patricians.

>non traditional romance. Keep it chinese
Add 'coming of age' to the 'non traditional romance' part, set aside four hours of your time, and watch A Brighter Summer Day. Kind of the reverse of the visual sumptuousness of In the Mood For Love, but brilliant.
Osaka Elegy. Fun fact: did the deep focus camera trick before Citizen Kane
This fucking guy.

Viva L'Amor. Warning: contains nipple licking.

This is a thread for recommending movies. If you're just In The Mood For Shitposting, kindly relocate to any of the prequelthreads.
Not exactly a romance film, but this is one of my favourites
>>64696312
Already watched it. A very good film indeed.
Have you seen Lost in Translation yet?
>>64695302
If it's asian film you want I would highly recommend Tsai Ming-Liang (watch his filmography chronologically, it's very rewarding)
Could we have more goat chinese cinematography too please ? not just similar romance story.
