The movie was originally just called "The Eye Creatures" but the studio demanded they add "Attack of the" to the title
It was cheaper to just superimpose "Attack of The" on top of the title rather than change the whole thing. They just didn't care

It was directed by legendary hack Jerry warren. His usual M.O. was to buy up foreign movies,butcher/re-edit them and add original pointless footage that added nothing to the story and was boring as fuck. "-Petrified" was one of a handful he actually created on his own. His only part-way entertaining movie was Wild World of Batwoman. That should give you an idea, anon. He really seriously didn't care.
