Reddit sucks because everything there is a hivemind. You basically aren't allowed to have your own opinions about anything. On 4chan, anonymity allows you to share your opinions even if they are controversial, people greentext you, discussions happen. You can be your own person
On Reddit, due to their voting system, if you share the opinions that the rest of the users share, your posts get "upvoted" (basically like facebook likes) to the top and everyone posts self-congratulatory bullshit about how great they are for sharing the same opinions.
But if you have a dissenting opinion to their general beliefs, you get downvoted and eventually your comment gets hidden with enough downvotes (literally becomes invisible so it cannot be seen) and so any dissenting opinions are literally censored so all their discussions are just based around hiveminds and people are afraid to share their real beliefs about topics.
That's why Reddit sucks, it's not because of them stealing memes
